1710 On 30 October, Martha Middleton, widow of Burlington purchased a house in Burlington for 20 pounds from Samuel Furris, innholder of Burlington. Witnessed by John Wells, Nathaniel Pope, and Jeremiah Bass. The house had been sold to Furriss by John Ogborne, carpenter earlier in the month. [1]

1712 The will of Martha Middleton of Burlington, widow was dated July 12 and proved July 20. It named children Thomas, Martha, Mary, Elizabeth, Jane, and William. House and lot in Burlington. Personal Property. Executor was son-in-law John Rogers. Wittesses were John Robardes, Mary Lovett, Thomas Revell. [2]

1712 The inventory of the personal estate of Martha Middleton, by Thomas Revell and John Ogborn senior, was dated July 21 and gave no value, since it was divided among the daughters according to her last will. [3]

1712 The account of Martha Middleton's estate was dated July 21. It amounted to £19.17.6, of which payments were made to George Urlin (?) for the funeral, Joseph Smith, E. Smith for wine at the funeral, Alice Talbot, John Borradaile, Dr. Roberts, John Dawson, the grave digger, and Thomas Scattergood. Burial in Colestown Cemetery, was St Mary's, Burlington County, New Jersey. [4]

Research Notes:

1702 On 1 August, Thomas Wakefield sold 150 acres in Evesham Twp, Burlington County, to John Middleton, husbandman. The land was bounded by land of Euance and Boolton. [5]

1725 John Middleton of Evesham sold 150 acres to John Rogers, of the town of Burlington? (after this John died). [6]

LDS record names Martha Barber (AFN:3SNT-C5) as possible wife of John Middleton. Both born in England.

Lord John Middleton married Martha Carew at St Andrews, Helborn on 16 Dec 1666. Son John lived in Crosswicks, Burlington County, New Jersey and married Esther Gilberthrope in 1710. [7]
