Notes for Robert Lutes and Ann Rogers

1790 On 20 December, Ann Rogers was born to parents Isaac and Ann Rogers. [1] [2]

1814 On 6 of month 9, the women's meeting informed the men's meeting at Chesterfield that Ann Lutes, late Rogers, had accomplished her marriage contrary to discipline and neglects the attendance of meetings. [3] [4] A testification against Ann Lutes was read and approved at the next men's meeting at Chesterfield. [5]

1814 On 7 of month 10, the women's meeting offered Ann Lout the opportunity to appeal. [6]

1826 On December 13, Ann Lutes, daughter of Isaac Rogers was named as a surviving heir, in the partition of real estate from his estate, according to a decree of the Middlesex Orphans court. [7]

1828 The account for Isaac Rogers, made by administrators Ezekiel Rogers and Stacy Decow, was disputed by Robert Lutes. [8] [9]

1829 The account for Isaac Rogers, made by administrators Ezekiel Rogers and Stacy Decow, was disputed by Robert Lutes, of Middlesex County, regarding sale of property. [10]

1830 Robert Lutes (age 30-40) and female (age 40-50) lived in West Windsor, Middlesex County, New Jersey with children. [11] Ezekiel Rogers Jr (Ann's half-brother's son?) and John Cubberly Jr (perhaps the family of sister Achsah) were listed nearby.

1840 Robert Lute (age 40-50) and female (age 50-60) lived in West Windsor, Middlesex County, New Jersey with children. [12]

1846 A memorial for Robert Lutes, died August 31, 1846, at age 55y 5m, is at Windsor United Methodist Church Cemetery, Windsor, Mercer County, New Jersey. [13]

1846 On September 10, Ann Lutes, widow, and Henry Lutes, eldest son of Robert Lutes of Mercer county, renounced their right of administration of the estate. Administration was granted to William C Lutes on September 11. [14]

1846 On September 11, Ann Lutes, widow of Robert Lutes of Mercer county, renounced her right of administration of the estate. Administration was granted to William C Lutes. [15]

1846 On September 11, William C Lutes recorded the inventory of the estate of Robert Lutes of Mercer county. [16]

1847 The inheritance of Achsah Rogers Cubberley [sister of Ann Rogers] included real estate adjacent to land of Randall Robbins, Joseph Ayres, Robert Lutes, deceased, William Tinsdale, et al. [17]

1850 Ann Lutes (age 60) lived with the family of Thomas E Batty (age 25?) and Ann Beatty (age 22) in Mansfield, Burlington County, New Jersey. [18]

1853 On January 1, Joseph Lutes, age 27, son of Robert Lutes, married Deborah A Clarke in Monmouth County, New Jersey. [19]

1860 Ann Lutes (age 70), widow, lived with the family of Thomas E Beatty (age 35) and Ann C Beatty (age 32) in Hopewell, Mercer County, New Jersey. [20]

1870 Ann Lutes (age 80), widow, lived with William C Lutes (age 47) and Elizabeth Lutes (age 52) in Washington, Mercer County, New Jersey and George (age 11). [21]

1874 On February 27, William C. Lutes, David Brown, and William Davis posted bond for the estate of Ann Lutes in Mercer County, New Jersey. [22]

A memorial stone for Rev. W. C. Lutes (1822-1897) is at Windsor United Methodist Church Cemetery, Windsor, Mercer County, New Jersey [23].

Research Notes:

We have assumed that Robert Lutes was the husband of Ann Rogers, based on the following documents. Ann Rogers, daughter of Isaac Rogers, married Lutes. Robert Lutes disputed the accounts of the estate of Isaac Rogers. Ann Lutes, wife of Robert Lutes, was born about the same time as Ann Rogers, daughter of Isaac Rogers. Robert Lutes lived near relatives of Ann Rogers in 1830. Real estate of Achsa Cubberly, sister of Ann Lutes, was adjacent to land of Robert Lutes in 1849.
