1422 "Robert Louell esquire lord of the manor of Laugherne otherwise Tallaghan otherwise Tallacram to John Merbery of Webbeley co. Hereford, Thomas Ryngwode of the county of Suthampton esquires and John Twynyho of Somerset. Grant indented of the advowson of the church of the said manor, so that they may present thereto at the next vacancy, with proviso that after the parson so presented shall be instituted and inducted the advowson shall revert to the grantor. Dated 12 December 1 Henry VI. Memorandum of acknowledgment, 14 December." [1]

1423 Walter Sylveyn and his wife Margaret granted rent for land in Somerset to Robert Longe and John Twynho. [2]

2 Henry VI. (1423-4) 6. At Westminster in the quinzaine of Easter between Robert Longe and John Twynho querents; and Walter Sylveyn and Margaret his wife deforciants; for twenty marcs of rent in Orchardleigh and Eggevorde. Walter and Margaret granted the said rent to Robert and John payable half at Michaelmas and half at Easter by the hands of Walter and Margaret and the heirs of Margaret. And besides Walter and Margaret granted for themselves and the heirs of Margaret that in case of default Robert and John and the heirs of Robert may distrain on four messuages, twenty-four acres of land, twelve acres of meadow, and two mills in Eggevorde and on a moiety of the manor of Orchardleigh with appurtenances in Orchardleigh; for this Robert and John gave Walter and Margaret three hundred marcs of silver.

1424 On 4 July, a quitclaim was recorded [3] [4]:

John Merbery of Webbeley co. Hereforde esquire to Thomas Ryngwode of the county of Suthampton esquire and John Twynyho of Somerset. Quitclaim of the advowson of Laugherne otherwise Tallaghan in Wales, which Robert Lovell esquire, lord of the manor of Laugherne otherwise Tallaghan gave to the said John Merbery, Thomas and John Twynyho. Dated London, Wednesday before the Nativity of the Virgin 3 Henry VI. Memorandum of acknowledgment, 7 September. Vacated, because in the third year.

1425 John Twyneho was one of the querents in a grant of land in Somerset to John Frank, cleric. [5]

4 Henry VI. (1425-6) 16. At Westminster in three weeks of St. Michael's day between John Frank cleric, Robert Longe, John Twyneho and John Gylys querents; and Walter Trycche and Joan his wife deforciants; for two messuages, six acres of land, and two acres of meadow and a half, in Magna Cayford, Frome, and Tudryngton. Walter and Joan acknowledged the right of John Frank and his heirs and quit claimed for themselves and the heirs of Joan; for this John gave them twenty marcs of silver.

1426 On May 5, "John Twynyho,—by mainprise of William Besile, esquire, and John Gyles, both of the county of Wilts,—from Easter last for 7 years, at a yearly farm of the 125£. 6s. 8d. which John Waget and Richard Paveley, the late farmers, rendered, and an increment of 40s.; in the county of Somerset. By bill of the treasurer." [6]

1426 On December 17, a commitment was made to John Twynyho of the office of the escheatry in counties Somerset and Dorset. [7]

1428 "Aug. 18. York. To the escheator in Somerset. Order to give John Forster livery of the manor of Bourton; as it is found by inquisition, taken before John Twynyho late escheator, that William Grene esquire at his death held that manor for life by demise of John Forster made without licence of the king, with reversion to the grantor and his heirs, and that it is held in chief by the service of rendering 1d. a year to the king and his heirs and by suit of the court of Coryryvell twice a year for all services." [8]

1428 On June 25, John Twyneho was one of the querents in a grant of land in Somerset to John Frank, cleric.[9]

6 Henry VI. (1427-8) 41. At Westminster in the morrow of St. John Baptist between John Frank cleric, Robert Longe, John Gyles, James Craas and John Twynho querents; and John Bussh and Joan his his wife deforciants; for nine messuages, forty acres of land, four acres of meadow and one acre of pasture in Frome. John Bussh and Joan acknowledged the right of John Frank to hold to him and his heirs rendering to them per annum thirteen shillings and fourpence by four quarterly payments, with power to distrain, and after the decease of John Bussh and Joan the said payment to cease: for this John Frank gave John Bussh and Joan one hundred marcs of silver.

1429 John Twyneho was one of the querents in a grant of land in Somerset to John Carter, cleric.[10]

8 Henry VI. (1429-30). 59. At Westminster in three weeks of St. Michael's day and afterwards in the quinzaine of Easter in the ninth year of the same king, between Richard Neuton, William Carent, John Hody, John Fortescu, John Twyneho and John Carter cleric, querents; and Nicholas Edmond and Margaret his wife deforciants; for eleven messuages, a mill, two carucates of land, fifty acres of meadow, one hundred acres of pasture, ten acres of wood, and eight shillings rent and a rent of a pound of pepper in Feltham and Frome in Selwood. Nicholas and Margaret acknowledged the right of John Carter, of which he had ten messuages, the mill, one carucate of land, thirty acres of meadow, sixty acres of pasture, five acres of wood and the rent, by their gift; and besides they granted that one messuage, one carucate of land, twenty acres of meadow, forty acres of pasture and five acres of wood which William Westbury, Richard Fiton, John Westbury junior, William Rous and Philip Loryng held, for the lives of Agnes who had been wife of Philip Shepherd and John and William her sons, the heritage of Nicholas which after the decease of the life tenants to him ought to revert shall remain to John Carter and his heirs to hold like the other; for this John Carter gave Nicholas and Margaret three hundred marcs of silver.

1437 John Twynyho "of Cayford, Som., gent. alias of Frome, late farmer of subsidy and ulnage in Som. alias controlr. of customs in Bristol, alias late eschr. in Som. and Dorset., alias of Bristol, merchant (m. 13)" was pardoned on June 12. [11]

1429 "May 5. London. He [the Bishop Stafford] instituted Sir Walter Selfayn, chaplain, in the perpetual chantry, commonly called 'Seint Nicholas Chauntrye,' in the parish church of Frome; at the presentation of John Frome alias Twynyho. It was written for his induction to the vicar of Frome Braunche." [12]
