1715 Title to John Owen in a publication dated December 21 for land in Richmond County. Granted by John Owen and William Rowley. Description: 239 acres on the head branches of Lambs Creek adjoining George Bronaugh. [1]

1725 On April 2, William and Mary Rowley, of Parish of Hanover King George County, sold 50 acres plantation whereon Richard Griffis now lives to Thomas Grigsby, of Parish of St Paul's in County of Stafford, for 2000 pounds of tobacco. The land was part of 500 acres that belonged to Catherine, daughter and heiress of Hugh Williams and late the wife of John Rowley, deceased; was sold by William Rowley to Thomas Grigsby. The land was escheated dated the 23rd of February 1705 (reverted to another owner since Catherine had no heir) by William Wood who in his will dated the 6th of Jun 1706 bequeathed it to said William Rowley. beginning at a post .... Richard Rosser's foermly wood; Mr Gregg's line' Mr Parlee... Presence Benja Berryman, Mosley Battaley, Willa Rowley, and Mary the wife of the said Rowley relinquished her right of Dower and thirds. Know all men I Wm Rowley ... am bound unto Thomas Grigsby... the sum of one hund pounds sterling... 2nd April 1725. The condition of ye above obligation.. if Wm Rowley... shall warrant the said lands unto Thomas Grigsby... this obligation to be void... otherways to remain in full force. 2nd April 1725 Deeds of Lease and Release and Bond recorded. April the first day 1725 received of Mr. Thomas Grigsby the sum of five shillings lawfull money of England. William Rowley. April the first day 1725 received of Thos Grigsby 2000 pounds of Tobacco William Rowley 7th May 1725 receipt presented. [King George County, Virginia, Deed Book 1, page 269-274]

1726 In a deposition, Mary Rowley was age 53.

1734 William Rowley senior bequeathed to his son William Rowley junior, land bequeathed "by my father John Rowley, late of Stafford". To all men.. Know ye that I William Rowley Senior for love towards my Loving Son William Rowley of King George have granted the plantation and all land adjoyning it of that side of Gants Swamp whereon he now lived which is part of 200 acres that my father John Rowley late of Stafford County deceased by his last will and testament gave to me William Rowley Senior. Presence Jos. Crouch John Grant. [King George County, Virginia, Deed Book 1, page 293-294]

1740 In a deposition, William Rowley senior reported his age to be about 70 years old. The deposition of William Rowley Senior aged about seventy years saith he knew a white oak standing on the North Side of a hill which was always reputed Richard Rossers corner which tree is not rotten and gone & further said not. Sworn before me 21st Apr 1740, John Champe Will Rowley. Memo on the 21st day of April 1740 Wm Rowley put up a locust post on the spot where the above mentioned tree formerly stood. In presence of John Champe, Benja McCarty Robert Smith, Haward Todd, William, Jon Jackson at a court held 6th Jun 1740. Sarah Rosser produced this deposition of William Rowley Senior? into court and on her motion the same was admitted to record. [King George County, Virginia, Deed Book 2, page 315][2]

1751 Will of William Rowley Senior. I Will Rowley Senior of parish Brunwick in the county of King George being antient and sick .. give and bequeathe to my son Moses Rowley forty shillings sterling and all my wearing apparel.. to my daughter Amey Proctor one large iron pott now in her possession and twenty shillings stgerling .. to my daughter Anne Mardis four Ewes out of my sheep .. to the heirs of my daughter Margery Smith deceased one shilling sterling..heirs of my daughter Elizabeth Armstrong deceased one shilling sterling.. to my son William Rowley all the remainder of my estate he paying the aforesaid legacies appoint my son William Rowley sole executor .. this 23 day October 1751. Presence of Thomas Emmerson, James Rains, William Marders William Rowley. At a Court Held 7 Feb 1754 will presented into court and admitted to record.
