1774 Benedict Eshelman, Jacob Meyer, and Martin Bare, acting as the executors for the estate of John Bare, deceased, sold part of his land in Conestoga Twp. Dated December 12. [1]

1782 Jacob Mayer & Martin Bare made a deed for land in Conestoga Twp., Lancaster County. Deed dated May 13. [2]

1783 Martin Baer "of Lancaster County and State of Pennsylvania farmer" purchased land in Washington County, Maryland. Deed dated March 7. [3]

1783 "Martin Bear of the Township of Conestoga and County of Lancaster in Pennsylvania, yeoman, and Barbara his wife" sell 100 acres of land in Conestoga Twp, Lancaster County. Deed dated May 16. [4]

1783 "Martin Bear of Washington County in Maryland Yeoman and Barbara his wife" sell 168 acres in Conestoga Twp., Lancaster County. Deed dated July 9. [5]

1799 "Departed this life, on Wednesday the 27th ult. after a short illness, Mr. Martin Baer, an old, respectable and much lamented inhabitant, on Antietam." [ie. Martin Baer died 27 Feb. 1799] [6]

1799 "To sell cattle, horses, sheep, hogs, grain in the ground, blacksmith's tools, shingles, 3 waggons, furniture -- John Barr and Barbara Barr, adm." [7]

1799 "To sell at the dwelling house of Martin Barr, late dec'd. quantity of wheat and rye, sheep, gears, windmill, and other -- Barbara Barr and John Barr, adm." [8]

1799 Barbara Barr and John Barr submitted the inventory for the estate of Martin Barr, deceased. Inventory dated December 10. [9]

1800 "Horse, Montezuma, will stand this season at Farmer's Delight, in Upper Antietam Hundred, farm of Martin Barr, late dec'd. -- John Barr" [10]

1800 John Barr presented the first account of the estate of Martin Barr. Mentions rent from John Moyer and Martin Moyer. Mentions payment to Christian Hershey and John Barr as guardians for the heirs of Christian Newcomer. Mentions payments to Christian and Abraham Moyer. Account dated August 19. [11]

1801 Jacob Barr was assigned as the guardian of David and Mary Barr. [12]

1801 John Barr was assigned as the guardian of Barbara Newcomer and others. [13]

1802 Barr, Martin: Adm. Barbara, John 2/15/02; widow [Barbara], Elizabeth Stoner, John, Jacob, Andrew, David, Mary, Otilla Newcomer. [Widow to receive 1/3 of distribution unless otherwise stated. Other heirs to split the remaining 2/3. [Distribution of Estate Account filed in Washington County, Maryland, not yet seen]

1812 "Departed this life on Monday morning, the 28th inst. in the 70th year of her age, Mrs. Barbara Barr. Her death was marked by the same christian piety, meekness and recognition which had characterized her long and well spent life -- beloved and respected by all who knew her worth, she is gone we trust, to receive the rewards of the just." [ie. Barbara (Myer) Barr died 28 Dec. 1812 and was born c. 1742] [14]
