1683 "Jonathan filius Jonathanis Weede baptizatus est" on December 27 in St Andrew, Hornchurch, Essex, England. [1]

1683/84 "Jonathan filius Jonathanis Weedes sepultus est" on March 7 in St Andrew, Hornchurch, Essex, "in Lauris id attestante Anna Weede coram Justit Wildmay Martij 9no 83." [2]

1684/85 "Samuel filius Joh'is Weede baptizatus est" on March 20 in St Andrew, Hornchurch, Essex. [3]

1686 Jonathan Weed the elder on behalf of Jonathan Weed the younger sued Stephen Ham in the Court of Chancery concerning the will of Thomas Weed, father of Jonathan Weed the younger. [4]

1687 "Thomas Son of Jona: Weed" was baptized on March 29 in St Andrew, Hornchurch, Essex. [5]

1689 Jonathan Weed was baptized on April 3 in St Andrew, Hornchurch, Essex. [6]

1690 "Martha Daugh: of Jonat: Weed" was baptized on September 5 in St Andrew, Hornchurch, Essex. [7]

1695 "William Son of Jonathan Weed" was baptized on July 8 in St Andrew, Hornchurch, Essex. [8]

1695 On August 6, the land occupied by Jonathan Weed was mentioned in a deed, "Little Field, Long Field and Home Field containing 66a., know[n] as Bush Elme farm, now in tenure of Jonathan Weed." [9] "Bush Elms, Hornchurch Road, was probably named from the family of William le Busch (fl. 1269). (fn. 84 P.N. Essex, 115.) In 1923 some 13th-century glazed tiles were still preserved in an out-building there. (fn. 85, R.C.H.M. Essex, iv. 73.) Deeds of the property survive from 1612. (fn. 86 E.R.O., D/DK T228/9-12; D/DU 544/1, 567/13, and 721/1-45.)" [10]

1697 "Sarah Daughter of Jonathan Weed" was buried on September 14 in St Andrew, Hornchurch, Essex. [11]

1700 "Jonathan the Sonn of Jonathan Wead" was buried on April 26 in St Andrew, Hornchurch, Essex. [12]

1703 "Samuel Ramsden & Mary Weed" were "marryed ye 19 of Octob." in St Peter and St Paul, Dagenham, Essex. [13] [Note: The Dagenham parish registers start in 1598 but are missing the years 1669-1692 and 1707-1722 for baptism, 1667-1694 and 1706-1722 for marriages, and 1669-1694 and 1707-1722 for burials.]

1707 "Thomas the Sonn of Jonathan Wead" was buried on July 11 in St Andrew, Hornchurch, Essex. [14]

1710 Jonathan Weed wrote his will on May 29. [15]

In the name of God Amen: The twenty ninth day of May: In ye Year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and ten: I Jonathan Weed of ye North end of Horne Church In the County of Essex Yeoman being of sound & perfect Memory & in reasonable Health of Body for which I Praise the Lord, doe yet because of human Frailty make publish and declare The day & yeare abovesd: This my Last Will & Testament In Manner & form following That is to say first I resigne & commend my soul into ye Hands of God who gave it me to be saved by & thro. The alone Merrits & Mediation of his sonne Jesus Christ my ever blessed Savior & Redeemer: My Body I commend to ye Dust from whence ye same was taken to be there in Buried in decent manner att ye discretion of my Executrix herein after nominated & appointed: And as to the part & port'on of those things here below which ye Lord hath been pleased to give me the use off I devise & dispose there of as Followeth Imprimis I give & bequeath unto my Loving wife Sarah all my Messuage or Tennem't together w'th th' Lands & all Appurtenances there unto belonging call'd Alderdye al's Alders Land Lying & being in Willingal Spain in ye County aforesd: And also all my estate at Horn Church: Stonyfields & two Cottages: to have & to hold to her my said wife dureing the term of Her natural Life: She obliged to keep ye said Messuages and all Appurtenances there unto belonging in Tennantable repaire. And not suffering or doing damage to any of ye premises. It is further my will and meaning that after the decease of my said Wife I give & bequeath to my son Samuel All yt my Estate in Willingall Spaine cald Aldye al's Alders Land w'th all th Appurtences to Him & his Heirs forever: Provided that He my said son Saml: shall within 12 Months after my decease or ye decease of my said wife the longest liver of us, without defraud delay or charge pay or cause to be paid to my son in law John Moseley; or my Daughter Martha his wife: the full summ of Forty pounds Sterling: Also Forty pounds more to my Grandson Samuel Ramsdon In Case of Neglect or refusal to pay these Legacies according to true intent & meaning The said Legatees or their order shall have power to enter upon the said premises till just payment be made all charges to be born by my son Samuel: my will is yt in case my Self & wife dye before our Grandson Samuel Ramsdon be of ye age of Twenty one years that than my son William become Trustee for Him whom I charge to be faithful to Him: Item I give bequeath to my son in Law Samul Ramsdon one shilling to be paid at my death: Item I give to my Grandson Saml Ramsdon the chest of drawer in the best Chamber after his Granmothers death to whose care and Gov I commit him while she lives & whom I appoint to receive for him ye forty pound of my son Saml: at ye time appointed abovesd: Item I will & bequeath to my son William after his Mothers death All my Estate in Horn Church: viz the Stonyfields & my my two Cottages to have & to hold to Him & his Hiers forever: Together with all my wearing Apparell Woollon & Linning mony in my Pocketts together with All my stock goods & chattels both with indores and with out After the death of my Loving wife He ye said William my son to defray all debts & oues of right belonging to me to Pay. It is further my will & meaning that my son William or his Heirs after him doe truly & constantly pay or cause to be paid yearly 20 shillings to my daughter Mary Ramsdon dureing Her natural life at one paym't. And my will is that if my said son William should happen to dye before my said wife Sarah, or before He arrive at ye Age of 21 years yt than & in such case what ever by my will did of right belong to Hime, be equally divided to ye children of my son Samuel daughter Mary & daughter Martha: to each family a part & to each child an equal portion.
And I doe here by make & appoint Sarah my Loving wife sole Executrix of this my Last will and Testament And doe hereby Revok & make void all other Will or Wills by me heretofore made by me by word or writing
Wittness my Hand & seal the day & Yeare abovesaid
Signed sealed putlight & declared to be ye Last will & Testam't of Jonathan Weed in presence
