1850 Joseph Rockhill (age 49) and Rebecca Rockhill (age 40) lived in Mansfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey with children Mary (age 18), Sarah (age 13), and Clement (age 11) and Mary Schooley (age 80), David Price (age 52), Thomas Stephens (age 13) and Elizabeth Norner (age 11). [1] [2]

1850 Rebecca Rockhill, wife of Joseph, died on 29 of month 12. [3][4]

1851 Joseph Rockhill and Margaret Ettenger were married on November 27, at East Windsor Twp, Mercer County, New Jersey. [5]

1852 "James S Schooley, deceased, without having made a will, of Hamilton Twp, Mercer County (formerly Nottingham Twp, Burlington County). Applicant: On 26 January, James Schooley of Hamilton Twp, a son, petitioned for a partition of the estate. Other children: Joseph Schooley; Benjamin Schooley; Isaac Schooley; Sarah (Schooley) wife of Charles Hughes; Ann (Schooley) wife of James Ivins; Mary (Schooley) wife of Daniel Wainwright; and grandchildren of James S Schooley, dec'd, namely Mary, Sarah, and Clement Rockhill, the children of a deceased daughter, Rebecca (Schooley) Rockhill, the former wife of Joseph Rockhill. Each claiming an undivided 1/8th share. Dated April 29th 1852." [6] [7]

1860 Joseph Rockhill (age 59, born in New Jersey) lived in Mansfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey, in a household with Margaret Rockhill (age 45), Amos Bradrick (age 13), Clement Rockhill (age 19), and James Smith (age 50). [8]

1870 Joseph Rockhill (age 69, born in New Jersey) lived in Mansfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey, in a household with Edward H Potts (age 48), Julia A Potts (age 39), Elizabeth S Potts (age 18), John A Potts (age 13), Mary A Scott (age 72), and Margaret Rockhill (age 55). [9]

1870 Joseph Rockhill, son of Clement and Hope Rockhill, died on December 14, in Columbus, Burlington County, New Jersey. Joseph was born in Mansfield, New Jersey. [10]

1870 Joseph Rockhill died on December 14 and was buried at Mansfield Cemetery, Mansfield, Burlington County, New Jersey. Joseph was born on April ?, 1801. [11]

1870 The estate of Joseph Rockhill was administered by Clement Rockhill and Margaret Rockhill. The administration was disputed by Rebecca Ann Black, Almira Black, William A Black, and their guardian William H Black in the Burlington County Orphans Court. [12] [13]

1872 The administration of the estate of Joseph Rockhill was disputed in the Burlington County Orphans Court. [14]

In the matter of the estate of Joseph Rockhill deceased

On motion of M Hutchinson, Proctor of William H Black guardian of [blank space: Rebecca Ann Black, Almira Black, William A Black] and of Edward Atkinson, guardian Joseph A Atkinson it is ordered that that the amount of the administration be opened and that the said guardians due have the time of thirty days to file exceptions thereto.

The records for Mary S Black cited below are consistent with the possibility that she was Mary Rockhill, daughter of Joseph Rockhill and Rebeccas Schooley. The records for Sarah Atkinson, with spouse Edwin (Edward?) and son Joseph Atkinson are consistent with the possibility that she was Sarah Rockhill, daughter of Joseph Rockhill and Rebecca Schooley. Their children might be named in the disputed administration of Joseph Rockhill, above.

1855 Sarah Rockhill (age 18) and Edward Atkinson (age 22) both of Burlington County, were married on January 1 in Trenton City County, New Jersey. [15]

1860 Rebecca A, Almira, and William A Black lived with (parents?) Mary S and Charles Black. Mary S Black (age 27, born in New Jersey) lived in Mansfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey, in a household with Charles Black (29), Rebecca A Black (8), Almina Black (6), William A Black (4), and William S Meyers (14). 1860 Sarah Atkinson (age 22, born in New Jersey) lived in Mansfield Twp, Burlington County, New Jersey, in a household with Edwin A Atkinson (26), Joseph C Atkinson (3), Hannah Carney (14), James Stevens (13), Samuel Stevens (20), and Benjamin Atkinson (22). [17]

1914 Son Clement S. Rockhill was buried at Columbus Cemetery, Columbus, Burlington County, New Jersey. Clement S. Rockhill was born in 1840. [18] [19]
