Notes for John Burkhart and Elizabeth Good

1778 John Burkhart, son of Jacob and Burkhart Hershey, was born on September 20. [1] [2]

1781 Elizabeth Good, daughter of Christian Good and Barbara Brandt, was born on July 22 or 27. [3] [4]

Elizabeth Good married John Burkhart. [5]

1813 A deed named Joseph Horst and wife Magdalena (late Good); David Martin and wife Mary (late Good) of Salisbury Twp, Lancaster County; Peter Burket and wife Barbara (late Good) of Caernarvon Twp; John Burket and wife Elizabeth (late Good); Hesther Good and Catharine Good of Brecknock Twp; being the children and heirs named in the will of Christian Good late of Brecknoch Twp, Lancaster County. They acknowledged payment from the estate and released Christian Good and John Burket, executors, from further claims. Deed dated March 6. [6]

1838 Esther Good, single woman, dated her will in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania on August 5, 1838. Her will was proved on February 25, 1939. The will named widow Nancy Good, late Nancy Zerbe, and sister Catharine Good. Several parcels of land, owned as tenants in common by Esther Good and Catharine Good, purchased from brother Christian Good, were bequeathed to Catharine Good. After the decease of Catharine, the land was to be bequeathed to brother Christian Good; sister Magdalena Hurst, wife of Joseph Hurst; and Elizabeth Burkhart, wife of John Burkhart. Christian Burkhart (son of John) and Samuel Good (son-in-law of brother Christian) were named executors. On February 25, 1839, letters of administration were granted to Christian Burkhart, and Samuel Good had renounced executorship. [7] [8]

1848 Elizabeth Good Burkhart died on May 6, 1848 and was buried at Pine Grove Mennonite Cemetery, Bowmansville, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [9] [10]

1850 John Burkhart (age 71) lived in the household of Peter Beam (age 35) and Julianna Beam (age 25), in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [11]

1856 John Burkhart Sr released Christian Burkhart, in consideration of the sum of $1, from any encumbrances in certain articles of agreement, dated November 12, 1847, made between John Burkhart Sr and his son Jacob Burkhart. Release dated October 20. This release was written following a deed whereby Jacob Burkhart and wife Anne granted land to their son Christian Burkhart. The land had been granted by Henry Musser to John Burkhart in 1856, who granted it to Jacob Burkhart by indentures intended to be recorded. [12]

1857 John Burkhart died on August 16. [13]
