Notes for Christian Hershey and Barbara Herr

1761 Rudolph Herr and wife Ann sold, on February 20, the land of the 1760 patent to (son-in-law) Christian Hershey, spouse of their daughter Barbara, with the intent that the land be passed to Barbara's offspring. Barbara since died with three daughters, Ann wife of John Kauffman, Esther wife of Abraham Kauffman, and Barbara wife of John Witmer. Christian Hershey chose to not honor the intent of the will but agreed to sell the tract to Barbara's heirs for 700 pounds in payment for improvements he had made to the land and witholding 15 acres for his use. Barbara's heirs agreed and paid 700 pounds to Christian Hershey and his wife Magdalen. [1]

1762 Abraham Steiner blacksmith of BethlehemTwp, Northampton County, and his wife Salome sold land, on May 7, to Christian Hershey of Manor Twp, Lancaster County, possibly this Christian Stoner. The land was in Conestoga Manor adjacent to land of Michael Baughman. [2]
