These notes attempt to follow the family of George Blackwell Pickett.

1829 George Blackwell Pickett (1789-1829) died and was buried at Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky. [1]

1830 William D. Pickett (age 20-30) lived in Montgomery, Alabama with female child (age 0-5) and female (age 15-20). [2]

1850 Courtney Pickett (age 53, born Virginia), lived in Fayette, Kentucky with Sarah J (age 26, born Virginia), Ann B (age 22, born Virginia), George B (age 24, born Virginia) and Wm P (age 22, born Alabama). [3]

1855 A newspaper notice reported [4] "Isaac W. Scott weds Sarah T. Pickett on May 15th, both of Lexington."

1860 Captain Geo E Pickett (age 35, born Virginia), lived in the Garrison at Camp Pickett, San Juan Island, Whatcom, Washington. [5]

1860 W H Pickett (age 33, born Alabama), lived in Memphis, Shelby, Tennessee with Amy (age 26), Ida (age 5) and Elizabeth (age 3) Pickett. [6]

1865 On 22 October, Courtney Heron Pickett (1797-1865), wife of George Blackwell Pickett, Sr., died and was buried at Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky. [7] "Mrs. Courtney Pickett died on 22nd at residence of her son-in-law Isaac Scott." [8]

1865 A newspaper notice reported [9] "Died on 22nd at residence of her son-in-law Isaac Scott, Mrs. Courtney Pickett."

1870 Wm H Pickett (age 44, born Alabama), lived in Batesville, Independence, Arkansas with Ida G (age 15) and Elizabeth B (age 13) Pickett, Samuel Blackwell (age 48) and Sarah V Blackwell (age 38), Barbara Cross (age 60), and Charity Wolfe (age 35). [10]

1870 George B. Pickett (age 44, born Virginia), lived in Shelbyville, Shelby, Kentucky in the home of Henry Reser (age 27) and Kate Reser (age 21). [11]

1880 George B. Pickett (age 54, born Virginia), civil engineer, lived in Chenoa, McLean, Illinois. [12]

1880 William D. Pickett (age 52, born Alabama) lived in Bozeman, Gallatin, Montana. [13]

1900 William D. Pickett (age 72, born October 1827 in Alabama) lived in Four Bear, Big Horn, Wyoming. [14]

1900 George B. Pickett (age 74, born Virginia) was a boarder in Colton, San Bernardino, California. [15]

1906 Miss Ann Blackwell Pickett (1824-1906), died and was buried at Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky. [16] "Miss Anne Blackwell Pickett, 82, one of Lexington's most prominent and venerated women, died Thursday night at her home in Campsie Place. Miss Pickett death occurring almost on the anniversary of her birthday, which was Friday." [17]

1910 William D. Pickett (age 82, born Alabama) lived in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky. [18]

1917 Col. Wm D. Pickett, son of S. G. Blackwell Pickett and M. Courtney Heron, died in Lexington, Fayette, Kentucky. [19]

1920 George Pickett (age 93, born Virginia) lived in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky with Nannie C Dillard (age 75). [20]

1925 A newspaper notice reported [21]:

Major Pickett 99

"Without an ache or pain," as he expresses it, Major George Pickett, pioneer railroad builder and distinguished soldier of the Confederate army, quietly celebrated the ninety-ninth anniversary of his birth and entered upon his one hundredth year, Tuesday at his home, 270 south Limestone street.

1925 A newspaper notice reported [22]:

Major Pickett recalls Battle of Shiloh, fought 63 years ago Monday

Monday will be the 63rd anniversary of the battle of Shiloh, which is vividly recalled by Major George Blackwell Pickett, 270 south Limestone street, member of the Orphan Brigade and civil engineer with the Confederate army, who is now in his one hundredth year. Major Pickett stated Saturday that Shiloh was the first battle in which he was engaged, and that "it certainly did open my eyes."

1925 Maj. Geo B. Pickett, son of G. Blackwell Pickett and M. Courtney Heron, died in Lexington, Fayette, Kentucky. [23] [24]

1925 A newspaper notice reported [25] "Maj. George B. Pickett, ex-soldier and engineer who laid out R. R. between Lexington and Paris, died. He lacked 3 months of being 100 years old."
