1813 John H. Good, son of Henry Good and Elizabeth Hoffman, was born on November 12. [1]

John H Good, of Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, married Lavina Bowman, daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth (Good) Bowman. [2] [3]

1850 John H Good (age 35) and Levina Good (age 25) lived in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania with Catherine (age 5), Hetty Ann (age 3), and Martin (age 11 months). [4]

1858 On March 29, Anthony Good and wife Rachel sold land to John H Good, all of Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County. The land hand been granted to Anthony, by Henry Good and his wife Elizabeth, on December 29, 1847. [5]

1860 Lavina Good (age 36) lived in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in a household with John H Good (46), Catharine Good (), Esther Good (13), Martin Good (10), Elizabeth Good (7), and Benjamin Staver (18). [6]

1906 Lavina Good, wife of John H. Good, died on January 22 and was buried at Bowmansville Mennonite Cemetery, Bowmansville, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [7] [8]

1906 An obituary for Lavina Good reported [9]:

Good - On the 23d of Jan., 1906, near Bowmansville, Pa., of the infirmities of old age, Lavina, wife of John H. Good; aged 80 Y., 4 M., 28 D. She was a faithful member of the Mennonite church for many years, and ministered faithfully to the needs of her loved ones in the home until five years before her death, when her mental powers failed, and in that condition she remained until death brought the change from the corruptible to the incorruptible, for we believe she met a Savior who is merciful. She is survived by her husband, now 92 years old, three daughters and two sons, of whom one is a minister; also a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to mourn her departure, yet not without hope. Burial on the 26th in the Bowmansville Mennonite cemetery. Funeral services in the M. H. adjoining by Henry Good and Bish. Benj. Weaver. Blessed is the death of the righteous. Peace to her ashes. Wm. G. Good.

1908 John H. Good, spouse of Lavina Good, died on April 17 and was buried at Bowmansville Mennonite Cemetery, Bowmansville, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He was born on November 12, 1813, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, son of Henry Good and Elizabeth Good. [10] [11] [12]

1908 An obituary for John H. Good reported [13] [14]:

John H. Good died on Friday of last week from infirmities incident to old age at his home in Brecknock township. Mr. Good was a remarkable man. He attained to the age of 94 years 5 months and 5 days, and up to his final illness, which was only of several days duration, he retained the full use of his faculties. He was born on the old Good homestead and lived there all his life. He was a farmer by occupation but retired thirty-four years ago. For a number of years he served as school director of Brecknock. He was a life-long member of the Mennonite Church and was a man who died as he lived--strong in the Faith. His wife died two years ago. The following children survive: Martin B., of Centre Church, a retired farmer and a former director of the New Holland National Bank; Israel B., of Spring Grove, a prominent minister of the Lancaster Conference of the Mennonite Church; Catharine, wife of Augustus Horning; Lizzie, wife of Joseph Horning, both of Bowmansville; Hettie, at home. Mary Goshen, aged ninety years, of Bowmansville, and Elizabeth Rutter, aged eighty-nine years, of Lancaster, are sisters. The funeral was held from his late home on Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock. Service and interment took place at the Bowmansville Mennonite Church and cemetery. Bishop Benjamin Weaver and Rev. Henry Good officiated.

1908 An obituary for John H. Good reported [15]:

Good. - On April 17, 1908, John H Good died of infirmities due to old age. He was a hale and hearty man and at the age of 85 still worked in the harvest field. The last few years he suffered bodily affliction. He was a faithful member of the Mennonite Church. His remains were laid to rest on April 21. Services were conducted by Henry Good in German and Bish. Benj. Weaver in English. A large concourse of friends and relatives met to pay the last tribute of respect to the departed one. His wife preceded him to the spirit world several years ago. He is survived by 2 sisters, 2 sons and 3 daughters, 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was aged 94y. 5m. 5d. Peace to his ashes.
