1691 Jedediah Allen and wife Elizabeth sold land to Robert Dennis, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, perhaps this Robert, or his father. The land was in Monmouth County. Deed dated May 3. [4]
1700 Robert Dennis married Susan Briggs on January 22. They settled in Tiverton, Newport County, Rhode Island. [5] [6] Also reported at Little Compton. [7] [8]
1712 Tabythy Dennis, daughter of Robert and Susnna Dennis, was born on September 3, in Tiverton, Newport County, Rhode Island. [9]
1729 Robert Dennis dated his will on December 29, and named various property, vessels, and negro slaves. [10]
1730 Robert Dennis died on January 5. [11]
1743 The will of the widow of Robert Dennis, dated January 20, bequeathed negroes. [12]

1751-59 Robert Dennis, perhaps a son of this Robert, was the town clerk who recorded livestock markings in Portsmouth. Robert Dennis recorded his own livestock mark on 1 June 1754. Robert Dennis recorded the mark for Joseph Dennis on 3 June 1754. [13]
