Research Notes:

Moriarty suggests that James Mott may have been the son of a Mr. George Mott who was buried at Saffron Walden, Essex, England on 7 February 1614/15. [6] However, a George Mott of Walden in the County of Essex wrote his will on February 4, 1614(/15). He named his children Thomas Mott, Ann Mott, and Mary Mott, all under age 21, his wife Ann, bequests made by his father John Mott, and administration of the estate of his brother Thomas Mott. The will was proved on May 23, 1615 [7] Thus, it appears that George Mott was not the father of James Mott.
