1795 James Pickett conveyed land to sons Joseph, Martin, and William R and daughter Frankey Hanes. [1]

1813 Joseph Pickett, perhaps this one, was elected to the House of Commons of North Carolina as the representative from Anson County. [2]

1828 The will of Col Joseph Pickett was dated April 24, 1828 in Anson County, North Carolina. Son Martin was not of full age. Wife, Flora. Daughter Martha King (bequest involved the estate of Alex King). Daughter Ellen Bates, part of bequest held in trust by Martin Pickett and Absalom Myers, involving the estate of John P Bates. Daughter Evelina. Daughter Mary Rutland, not to be held liable for the debts of husband Benjamin H Rutland. Daughters Francis, Glovina, Evelina. Brother Martin Pickett and Absalom Myers executors. [3]

1830 Wed. Dec. 15, 1830 North Carolina Journal. Married in Wadesboro, on Thursday last, Dr. Jones to Miss Pickett, daughter of the late Joseph Pickett, Esq. [4]
