Notes for Jacob Billmeyer and Helena Holtzender

1732 Andreas and Rosina Schenck and Jacob Billmeyer sailed for America on the ship "Loyal Judith" and qualified at Philadelphia on 25 September. [1]

1750 On 2 September, Jacob Billmeyer of York County, Pennsylvania was naturalized. [2] [3] [4]

1754 Jacob BIllmeyer was a prominent Lutheran and was for some 30 years secretary of the church of York. The baptismal register of St. Paul's church in North Codorus township which was opened in 1771, contains this notice beautifully inscribed on the inside cover, in German.

"To Jacob Billmeyer this book belongs, and I inscribe it thus, Aug. 24, 1754." He was apparently well educated.

1781 Jacob died and was buried in the Lutheran cemetery at York.

1805 The wife of Jacob Billmeyer, senior, Helena Holtzender, died in York in March 1805.

Jacob Billmeyer's sons, Jacob, Michael, and Andrew served in the Revolutionary War. Of his daughters, Rosina married Leonard Weigle, and left descendants in the Kendig, Leinbach and Baker families: Anna Maria married Henry Schaeffer, and left descendants: and Elisabeth died unmarried at an advanced age in 1824.

1776 Jacob Billmeyer [Blimyer] was private first class in Captain Lang's Company, York County Militia. [5]

1779 Jacob Billmeyer, surveyor, was taxed in York, York County, Pennsylvania. [6]

1800 On 30 January, Helena Billmeyer, of York Borough, dated her will, with probate on March 20, 1805. Executors: Elizabeth Billmyer and Peter Diehl. Children: Michael, Andrew, Rosina m. Leonard Weigle, Ann m. Henry Shaffer, and Elizabeth. [7]
