1780 Henry Bender, perhaps this one, was a Private in the bounds of the 7th Company, 1st Battalion, York County, Pennsylvania on 14 October. [1]

1783 A tax return was reported in York Town, York County, Pennsylvania for Henry Bender for 1 servant and 1 negro. [2]

1786 John Bender and Henry Bender were taxed in Menallen Twp, York County. [3]

1786 Henry Bender was listed on the Menallen Twp, York County, septennial census. [4]

1786 Lisabetha, daughter of Henrich and Catarina Bender, was born on June 9. She was baptized on June 18 at Bender's Church, Adams County, Pennsylvania. [5]

1786 On a survey of an adjacent tract, Henry Bender was shown as the owner of the tract his father, Jacob Bender, had warranted in 1773.

1787 Henrich and Catharina Bender were sponsors at the baptism of Heinrich Bender on July 15. Heinrich, son of brother Conrad and Susanna Bender, was born on May 25 in Adams County, Pennsylvania. [6] [7] [8]

1788 Catarina, daughter of Heinrig and Catarina Bennter, was born on August 6. She was baptized on September 6 with sponsors Johannes and Catarina Bennter at Bender's Church, Adams County, Pennsylvania. [9]

1788 Henry Bender was taxed in Menallen Twp, York County with 137 acres. [10]

1790 Maria Magdalena, daughter of Heinr. and Catharina Bender, was born on September 14. She was baptized on September 26 with sponsors Peter and Anna Maria Pfeifer at Bender's Church, Adams County, Pennsylvania. [11]

1790 There were two census listings for Henry Bender in Huntington, Menallen, Manheim and Tyrone Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [12] [13]

1792 Jacob, son of Henrich and Cadarina Bender, was born on December 24. He was baptized on March 10, 1793 at Bender's Church, Adams County, Pennsylvania. [14]

1793 Henry Bender was listed on the septennial census for Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania. [15]

1799 Henry was taxed on a value of $914 in Butler (Menallen) Twp, Adams County. [16]

1800 Henry Bender lived in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (26 thru 44); and females: 2 (under 10), 2 (10 thru 15), and 1 (26 thru 44). [17]

1800 Henry Bender was listed on the septennial census for Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania. [18]

1809 Henry Bender of Adams County received a land patent for a tract called "Harmony" in Menallen Twp, Adams County. Adjacent lands were held by heirs of William Shepherd Jun, John McClear, Samuel Hendricks, Isaac McKinley, John Gilleland, and Ephraim Johnston. The land had been granted to Jacob Bender by warrant dated June 30, 1773. [19]

1810 Henry Bender (age 26-45) and wife (age 26-45) lived in Menallen Twp with 2 younger males. [20]

1810 Henry Bender and wife Catharine of Menallen Twp, Adams County sold land to the trustees of the Lutheran Calvinist High Dutch Church Congegration, known as Benders Church. The deed was dated October 13. The land was originally granted to Jacob Bender by warrant dated June 30, 1773. Henry Bender received a patent for the land dated September 22, 1809 (Lancaster, patent H1-419). [21]

1820 Henry Bender (age 45+) and wife (age 45+) lived in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania with 2 younger males and 3 younger females. [22]

1822 Mountain land of William B McGrew in Menallen Twp was described as adjacent to land of Henry Bender. [23]

1830 Henry Bender (age 60-70) and wife (age 60-70) lived in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania. Another generation (age 20-30) lived with them. John and Gabriel Meals lived nearby. [24]

1840 Henry Bender lived in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (15 thru 19) and 1 (70 thru 79); and females: 1 (20 thru 29) and 1 (70 thru 79). [25] [26]

1843 Henry Bender of Menallen Twp, Adams County, wrote his will, dated March 16. Wife Catharina was to have use of the house and a girl [servant] and a good doctor, if needed. Residue of estate to two sons-in-law; Jacob Smeyer and Daniel Slaybaugh, who were named executors. Witnessed by William Wilson and John Bender. Probate 8 January, 1843. [27]

1843 Mr. Bender was buried on May 11, 1843 at Benders Church. He died at age 80 years, 6 months, 16 days. [28] [29]

1844 Catherine Bender was buried during February, at age 77 years, 6 months, 26 days, at Benders Church. [30] [31]

Documents related to Henry Bender, born 1787, son of Conrad Bender, might be incorrectly listed above for this Henry Bender.

John Jacob Schmeyer (1779-1854) and Elizabeth Bender (1786-1853) were reportedly married.

1829 Daniel Slaybaugh and Maria Bender were married on December 17.

Henry Bender, brother to Elizabeth, and son of Henry, was part owner of the original tract of Bendersville. [32]
