Maria Catherine Weigel, the first child of Martin and Anna Catharina Weigel, was born 9 May 1762 in West Manchester Township, York County, Pennsylvania. Maria Catherine married Ludwig Stein, after which they settled on a farm near Freysville in Windsor Township. Ludwig and Maria had a family of 7 children: Anna Catharine, Elizabeth, John, Daniel, Susan, Margaret, and Henry. Ludwig Stein died during 1812 at the age of 50 years, and Maria Stein died on 2 February 1845 at the age of 82 years. Records indicate that Ludwig and Maria are buried in the Freysville Cemetery in Windsor Township, however their tombstones are likely no longer legible since they could not be located.
