Complete Peerage provides a brief biography of Henry de Novo Mercato, son of Adam de Novo Mercato. [1]

Henry de Novo Mercato, s. and h., came of age in 1172.(d) He was a benefactor of Nostell, of St. Peter's Hospital, York, and of Southwell Minster.(e) He m. Denise, da. and h. of Otes De Tilli, by Mabel, da. and h. of William Fitzraven, of Hatfield, Yorks.(f) He d. in the summer of 1178. (a) His widow m., in 1182,(b ) Henry Puiset, s. of Hugh Puiset, Bishop of Durham and Earl of Northhumberland, by Alice de Percy.(c) She was a benefactress of Monkbretton; and, as Denise de Puiset, was holding Carlton Scroop, Lines, a Newmarch manor, in 1212.(d)

describes her in 1271-2 as aunt and heir of Margery, da. and h. of her brother Otes
de Tilli (Assize Roll 483, rot. 67).
(a) When his wife and land were committed to his uncle (Pipe Roll, 24 Hen. II, p. 76). He left a younger son Henry, who, with his brother Adam, attested many charters to religious houses in Yorks. He was presumably the
Henry who, in 1218, m. Fresent (whose name is also found as Frethesant and Frideswyde), widow of Sir Geoffrey Lutterell, and da. and coh. of William Paynel (Excerpt, e Rot. Fin., vol. i, p. 9 ; Stapleton, in Royal Arch. Institute, Yorks vol., 1848, pp. 117-124). He was dead, probably s.p., in 1239 (Monkbretton Chartul., p. 197.)

Denise de Tilli was described by her great-grandson Adam de Novo Mercato "in 1271-2 as aunt and heir of Margery, da. and h. of her brother Otes de Tilli." [2]
