1868 Emily, wife of Daniel Greenawalt, died on April 26, at age 71y 7m 22d, and was buried at Funk Cemetery, Hutchinson, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. [4]

1880 Danl. Greenawalt (age 44, born in Pennsylvania, married) lived in Sewickley Twp, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Martha Greenawalt (age 44), Jane Greenawalt (age 15), Jacob Greenawalt (age 9), Anne E. Greenawalt (age 7), and Daniel B. Greenawalt (age 5). Danl. Greenawalt's parents were both born in Pennsylvania. Danl. Greenawalt's occupation was farmer. [5]

They lived on a farm of 196 acres along the Youghiogheny River in Sewickley Twp, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Both are buried at Funks United Brethern Church. Death 9 Mar 1838, Brown's Ferry near the Youghioghney River, at his home. Burial Old Mars Cemetery, Pennsylvania. Member of the Salem Baptist Church.

Residence: They settled on 'Browns Ferry tract' of land, situated on the Youghiogheny River in Sewickly Twp. and had 196 acres. All of their children were born there. Tax Records: of 1843 in Sewickley Twp, Westmoreland Co. lists the heirs of Daniel Greenewalt who are assessed for 196 acres.

Notes for Emily Squibb: Tax Records: of 1843 in Sewickley Twp, Westmoreland Co. lists an Emily Greenewalt who is assessed for 4 cows and money at interest of $50. US Census: of 1850 lists an Emily Greenawalt living next door to J.B. Copeland and family. Emily [age 51] is living with Angeline [age 21] and Caleb [age 19] Greenewalt. No real estate value is recorded. Land Records: On Dec. 20, 1851 Emily Greenewalt [widow]; Joseph B. Copeland and his wife Martha [nee Greenewalt]; Robert Hamilton and his wife, Ann Eliza [nee Greenewalt]; Anjaline [Angeline] Greenewalt and Caleb Greenewalt sell to Edith McKnight, wife of James McKnight, 5 acres of land in Elizabeth Twp. for $260. This land had been owned by Johnson Elrod and his wife, Mary, who sold it to Daniel Greenewalt. Daniel Greenawalt died intestate and the legal heirs here are selling it. All the parties involved signed as written here, but Anjaline signs herself 'Angeline' and Ann Eliza signs with an 'X'. Witnesses for the sellers: Arthur Henderson and Henry Greenewalt. Witness for the buyer: John B. McCormick.8

On July 16, 1866 Emily Greenewalt of Swickley Twp. [in Westmoreland Co.] and Joseph B. Copeland along with Martha [Greenawalt], his wife of Buena Vista in Elizabeth Twp. [Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.] sell to Mary Ann Copeland, wife of Thomas Copeland also of Elizabeth Twp. a parcel of land in Buena Vista [PA.] for $45. This land was originally owned by Daniel Greenewalt [deceased] who sold it to Frederick Laudabarger in 1850. Frederick in turn sold it to Thomas Copeland [same as above] and to Johnston Elrod who has now relinquished his claim on July 3, 1868 [sic]. Caleb Greenewalt, J.P. witnessed this agreement and recorded it in the Allegheny Co. courthouse books on April 26, 1869.9

Notes for Martha (Child 1) Land Records: There is a Martha Copeland who sold many pieces of property in Elizabeth Twp. and Buena Vista to approximately 67 different people over the course over several years between 1851 and 1876. Some of the related names were: Joseph B. Copeland; Mary Anne Copeland; William E., Frank and James Patterson; Edith McKnight; Mathew Henderson, Sr.; Henry Greenawalt [her uncle?]; Thomas McCune; Joseph C. Douglass, et al.10

US Census: of 1860, lists this family: Brigham Copeland 44 M Butcher Martha 40 F, Emily 12 F, Mary F. 10 F
Herero [?] 7 M,Caleb G. 4 M, Cassius 1 M

of 1870 for Elizabeth Twp. on page 74 lists: J.B. Copeland age 52 - farmer (age in 1860 was 44. Someone wasn't accurate either in 1860 or in 1870). Martha age 50, Mary age 20, Glascow age 17, Cassious age 12, Agness age 8, Jennis age 4.

Notes for Robert & Ann Eliza (Family)
Robert and Ann ELiza moved to Iowa sometime after their marriage.
They had four sons and two daughters.

Notes for Caleb (Child 5)
Tax records: of 1843 in Sewickley Twp, Westmoreland Co. lists a Caleb Greenewalt who is assessed as a minor child with a gold watch! Military Service: Enlisted on July 6, 1861 as second lieutenant of Co. F, 28th Reg. of the PA. Volunteers. Served with distinction and was promoted to a Captain. He served under General Tyndale at Harper's Ferry both as an officer and a spy, was with General Banks and then transferred to General Sherman's army, fought at Atlanta and led his company in the [infamous] 'march to the sea'. 1 also [Vol. I; p. 599] 11
