1900 George H Wise (born in Pennsylvania in Jan 1852, married for 24 years) lived in Mount Holly Springs, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Emma C Wise (age 49), Carrie A Wise (age 21), Bertha M Wise (age 19), and Emma R Wise (age 6). George H Wise's parents were both born in Pennsylvania. [2]

1910 George H Wise (age 58, born in Pennsylvania, married for 34 years) lived in Mount Holly Springs, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Emma C Wise (age 59), Bertha M Wise (age 29), Ruth E Wise (age 16), and Clarina Nailor (age 58). George H Wise's parents were both born in Pennsylvania. George H Wise could read and write. George H Wise's occupation was machinist, Paper Mill, wage earner. [3]

1925 George Harney Wise, son of Jacob Wise and Sophia Zeigler, spouse of Emma C Nailor, died at age 73, on March 6, 1925 in Mt Holly, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. George Harney Wise was born in Pennsylvania. (Death certificate: 28333). [4]

A biosketch of George H. Wise reports [6]:

George H. Wise, one of the most highly respected citizens of South Middleton township, son of Jacob Wise, deceased, was born in Springville, that township, in 1852. Until he was nineteen years of age. he attended the district schools, and then began to learn the trade of a carpenter in Churchtown, Monroe township. After serving his apprenticeship, he worked lor a year as a journeyman, and in 1874, he went to Huntsdale, where he remained three years. His next location was at Boiling Springs, where he engaged in the cabinetmaking and undertaking business, so continuing for ten years. In 1888 he removed to Mt. Holly Springs, and embarked in a millwright and machine business there. His next move was to enter the Mt. Holly Paper Company, and he is now master mechanic of that concern, and has been for sixteen years (1904).

In 1875. Mr. Wise married Emma C. Nailer, daughter of Daniel and Caroline Nailer of South Middleton township. Four children have been born of this marriage: Carrie A., born at Huntsdale. is a resident of Philadelphia; Frank M.. born at Boiling Springs, is now at Cleveland, Ohio, being a pattern maker and fine mechanic; Bertha M., born at Boiling Springs. is at home; Emma Ruth. born at Mt. Holly Springs, is also at home.

In politics. Mr. Wise is a Democrat, and has served ably for two terms as school director of South Middletown township. In religious matters, he is a member of the United Brethren Church, and lias lieen treasurer of the Sunday School at Mt. Holly Springs for the past sixteen years. His wife and family are members of the United Evangelical Church of Mt. Holly, and all are excellent church members. Their pleasant home is located at No. 107 Baltimore avenue, where a gracious hospitality is dispensed.

Bertha Wise is a different person from: 1910 William H. Royer, age 32, and Bertha M. Wise, age 27, were married on February 14, 1910 in Dallas Center, Dallas County, Iowa. William H. Royer, child of Geo. B. Royer and Mary Brenaman, was born in 1878. Bertha M. Wise was a child of Andrew J. Wise and Susan Shank. [7]
