1804 Maria Magdalena Meel, daughter of Wilhelm and Betsy Meel, was born on December 26. She was baptized at Benders Reformed Church, Butler Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania. [3]

1810 William Meals Jr (age 26-45) lived in Tyrone Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania. William Meals (father) was in the adjacent listing. [4]

1816 Catharina Meel, daughter of Wilhelm and Elisabeth Meel, was born on February 26, 1816 and was baptized on April 7, 1816, at Upper Bermudian Church, Huntington Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania. [5]

1820 William Meals lived in Huntington Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania in a household with 3 young males, 2 males age 26-44 (William would be age 40), one male age 45+ (perhaps William's father) and 4 young females and one female age 26-44 (wife Elizabeth). [6]

1822 Wilhelm Meals and Elizabeth were witnesses at the baptism of Wilhelm Spangler, son of Rudolph and Elizabeth Spangler, born November 15, 1822 and baptized Jan. 12, 1823. [7]

1830 William Meals Jr (age 40-50) lived in Huntington Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania in a household with Males: one age 10-15, one age 20-30, one age 45-50, one age 80-90 and Females: one age 15-20, one age 20-30, one age 30-40. [8]


1839 Wm. Meals was an administrator for the estate of Henry Meals.

1840 William Meals (age 60-70), perhaps this one, lived in Huntington Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania with a large family. [10]

1850 William Meals (age 70) perhaps this one, lived in Huntington Twp, Menallen Twp, PA with Anna (age 66) and Elizabeth Mackey (age 50). Next door was the family of William Meals Jr. (age 38). [12] [13]

1852 William Meals died on September 11, at age 72 years, 6 months, 13 days at Up[per] Ber[mudian]. [14] [15] William was a son of William and Margaret Meals, born in Conewago (reported). His spouse was Elisabeth and 6 children were named (son Henry was deceased). [16]

1852 The death registration of William Meals reported his date of birth as Feb 26, 1780, parents as Willlam and Margaret Meals, birthplace supposedly Conewago Twp, wife Elizabeth, and living issue as Polly, Margaret, Jacob, Elizabeth, William, and Catharine. [17]

1852 The will of William Meals was proved on September 1, in Adams County, Pennsylvania with executor Jacob Meals Sr. [18]

1853 William Gardner, spouse of Margaret Meals, daughter of William Meals Sr, deceased, of Huntington Twp, Adams County, petitioned the Orphans Court, on April 18, to partition land from the estate of William Meals. [20] [21] [22] The petition stated that:

the said William Meals Sen died intestate on or about the ninth day of September last past (1852) leaving a widow named Elizabeth, and issue and the children of deceased issue as follows, to wit, Mary Magdalena intermarried with Adam Weigle, Margaret the wife of your petitioner, Jacob Meals, Elizabeth intermarried with George Guise, William Meals and Catharine Harman (late, Meals) and the issue of his deceased son Henry Meals, to wit, Matilda Meals, Amos Meals, Rebecca Meals, Elizabeth Meals and Caroline Meals, the four last of whom are minors and have for their guardians Peter Miller and Adam Weigle …

1856 Elizabeth, wife of Wm Meals Sr, died on November 31, at age 74y 10m 15d and was buried at the Upper Bermudian Lutheran Cemetery, Huntington Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania. [23] [24]
