1888 Allen Hoffman and Viola Kearn were married on July 4 in Wawaka, Indiana. Allen Hoffman, son of John Huffman and Elvina Walker, was born in Noble, Indiana. [1] [2] [3]

1900 Allen Hoffman (born in Dec 1864 in Indiana), married in 1888, lived in Jefferson Twp, Noble County, Indiana, in a household with Viola Hoffman (age 35), Raymond Hoffman (age 11), Rubie B Hoffman (age 8), Bessie M Hoffman (age 7), and Marie Hoffman (age 1). Allen Hoffman's parents were both born in Pennsylvania. [4]

1920 Allen C Hoffman (age 55, born in Indiana), married, lived in Jefferson Twp, Noble County, Indiana, in a household with Forrest Hoffman (age 17) and Raymond R Hoffman (age 30). Allen C Hoffman's parents were both born in Pennsylvania. Allen C Hoffman's occupation was farmer, general faring, own account. [5]

1932 Viola Hoffman died on Mar. 22, 1932, and was buried at Sweet Cemetery, Albion, Noble County, Indiana, Plot: 2-6, born on Jul. 18, 1864. [6]

1952 Allen C Hoffman died on Jan. 13, 1952, and was buried at Sweet Cemetery, Albion, Noble County, Indiana, Plot: 2-6, born on Dec. 25, 1864. [7]

A biosketch of Allen C. Hoffman reports [8]:

Allen C. Hoffman, Trustee of Jefferson township, Noble county, Ind., was born on his father's farm in this township on the 25th day of December. 1864, and was therefore what is known throughout the civilized world as a "Christmas gift" to his parents, the late John Hoffman and Elmira (Walker) Hoffman,...

Allen C. Hoffman was educated in the common schools of his native township and at Oberlin, Ohio. He assisted in the cultivation of the home place until his marriage in Elkhart township. July 4, 1888, to Miss Viola Kearn, daughter of John and Eunice (Gibson) Kearn, residents of Polk county, Iowa. Mrs. Hoffman was, however, born in Elkhart township. Noble county, Ind., July 18, 1864, and to this union have been born four children, viz. : Raymond R., Ruby B., Bessie B. and May M.

In politics Mr. Hoffman is a Democrat, and has been honored by his party by being elected township trustee of Jefferson township in November, 1900, which office he is filling with credit to himself and to the gratification of his party and the public at large. As an agriculturist, being now in the prime of life, he has won an, enviable reputation, and his eighty-acre homestead is a model of neatness and intelligent husbandry. He and his family are held in very high esteem by the community in which they live, and they are indeed a credit to themselves and their neighbors.
