1940 An obituary for Mary Hoffman, possibly this Mary Blackston Hoffman, reported age 83, a resident of Green Twp for many years, died at the Wogoman Home for the Aged at Kendallville. She was a native of Ohio. Surviving are 5 sons, 2 daughters, one sister, 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral was Sunday at a Kendallville funeral home. Burial, Rehoboth Cemetery. 1969 Ethel Edna Veazey Hoffman died on June 21 and was buried at Memorial Park Cemetery, Pinellas County, Florida. Ethel Edna Veazey Hoffman was born on August 4, 1890. [25] [26]
Research Notes:
I have found no direct evidence that James Hoffman, spouse of Mary Blaxton, was the son of John and Elvina (Walker) Hoffman, who died in 1939, other than approximate agreement of birthdate and residence. The discrepancy between Mary Blaxton Hoffman being named as a widow after 1900 and James' death date in 1939, is unresolved.
