1766 Joseph Bowman, son of Christian Bowman, was born on July 19, in Berks County, Pennsylvania. [1] [2] [3]

1772 Mary Baer was born on January 23. [4] [5]

1785 Joseph Bowman [Bauman] was listed as 2 class on a class roll of Capt. Weidner's Company of April and May 1765 of the First Battalion of Berks County, commanded by Col. Lutz. [6]

1791 Christian Bowman of Cumru Twp, Wendel Bowman of Cumru Twp, Joseph Bowman of Robison Twp, all three of Berks County, and John and Barbara Good of Brecknock Twp, Lancaster County, the heirs of Christian Bowman, deceased, released the executors of Christian's will from further claims. Dated December 31. Their signatures were witnessed on that date. [7]

Rev. Joseph Bauman (7/19/1766-1/19/1849) married Maria Baer (1/23/1772-10/29/1842). [8]

1802 Joseph Bowman was ordained as a Mennonite minister. [9] [10]

1802 "The Allegheny Mennonite Church was a member of the Lancaster Mennonite Conference (Mennonite Church USA), in Brecknock Township, Berks County Pennsylvania, near Alleghenyville. The first Mennonite settler was Jacob Bauman (1722-1770), son of Wendel of Pequea, coming in 1745, who was followed by his brothers Christian and Peter in 1751, also by Peter Eshelman and his sons Jacob and Peter in 1749. Benedict Horning came in 1759.The congregation was organized probably in 1760. Christian Bauman (1724-1790) was the first minister. In 1802 Joseph Bauman (1766-1849), his son, was ordained a minister. In 1816 before moving to Waterloo County, Ontario, he preached a fitting farewell sermon under a tree near his home a mile east from the Allegheny Mennonite Church. Between 1807 and 1825 probably 30 members of this congregation moved to Ontario. The congregation worshiped in private homes until 1855, when they built the first meetinghouse. The 1948 membership was 10" [11]

1816 Joseph Bowman and his family moved to Blair, Ontario, Canada. [12] [13]

1842 Mary Baer Bauman died on October 29, 1842 and was buried at Blair Cemetery, Blair, Waterloo Regional Municipality, Ontario, Canada. Mary Baer Bauman was born Jan. 23, 1772. [14] [15] [16]

1849 Rev. Joseph O Bowman died on January 19, in Waterloo County, Ontario [17] [18] and was buried at Blair Cemetery, Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. A memorial stone is at Allegheny Mennonite Cemetery, Alleghenyville, Berks County, Pennsylvania. "Joseph Bowman. minister of the Mennonite church. Born July 19, 1766 in Brecknock Twp, Berks Co. Pa. Was joined in holy matrimony with Mary Baer of the same place. They emigrated to the Twp. of Waterloo, C.W. 1816 where they resided to the time of their decease" [19] [20]

c 1780 Joseph Bowman was listed for exercise fines (not appearing for military exercises), in Capt Sleter's company, Lancaster County. [23]

Notes for son Jonathan:

1851 Son Jonathan Bowman (age 60, born in Pensylvania) lived in Waterloo, Canada West (Ontario), Canada, in a household with Mary Bowman (56) and Joshua Bowman (17). Jonathan Bowman was a magistrate. [24]

1876 Jonathan B. Bowman died on April 1 at Bloomingdale, Waterloo Regional Municipality, Ontario, Canada and was buried at Bloomingdale Mennonite Cemetery, Bloomingdale, Waterloo Regional Municipality, Ontario, Canada. Jonathan B. Bowman was born on November 25, 1792. [25] [26]

1882 Salome Bowman Clemens died on June 24 at Waterloo, Waterloo Regional Municipality, Ontario, Canada and was buried at Breslau Mennonite Cemetery, Breslau, Waterloo Regional Municipality, Ontario, Canada. Salome Bowman Clemens was born on July 26, 1830. [27] [28]

1883 Maria Polly Schneider Bowman died on February 27 at Woolwich Township, Waterloo Regional Municipality, Ontario, Canada and was buried at Bloomingdale Mennonite Cemetery, Bloomingdale, Waterloo Regional Municipality, Ontario, Canada. Maria Polly Schneider Bowman was born on January 8, 1796. [29] [30]

Daughter of Jacob "Yoch" & Mary (Erb) Schneider.

1918 Levi S Bowman, married, died on January 31 in Caledonia Twp, Kent County, Michigan. He was born on November 23, 1832 in Waterloo Co Ontario, son of Jonathan Bowman and Polly Schneidner. [31]
