1743 John Leonard Weigel, son of Martin Weigel, was born on April 2. He was baptized on April 28 at Christ Lutheran Church, York, York County, Pennsylvania. [1] [2]

1749 Rosina Billmeyer was baptized on April 9 with sponsors Andrew and Rosina Schenck. [3]

1759 On 28 March, at the York Orphans' Court, Jacob Weigle (age 19) and Leonard Weigle (age 15), orphans of Martin Weigle, asked that George Kuntz, York Town tavernkeeper be their guardian. [4]

1763 On May 24, "Came into court Philip Fishburn and produced an extract book of the Lutheran Congregation in York by which it appears to the Court that Leonard Wigle formerly bound to the said Philip Fishburn by this court hath not yet attained his age of twenty one years and it is thereupon ordered by the court that the said apprentice remain in the service of the said Philip until the second day of April next ensuing at which time he will arrive at his age of twenty oe years." [5]

1768 Leonard Weigel of West Manchester township, joiner and farmer, received a warrant for 90 acres of land adjoining Alexander Underwood, Michael Bentz, Peter Link, and George Nailor. [6] [7]

1771 Leonard Wagel was taxed as a freeman. Brothers Basten [Sebastian] Wagel and Martin Wegel were taxed in Manchester Twp, York County. [8]

Rosina Billmeyer and Jon. Leonhard Weigel were married. [9]

1772 Basten [Sebastian], Martin, Peter, and Leonard Wagel were taxed in Manchester Twp, York County. [10]

1777-78 Leonard Weigel was fined (Captain Herman's Company fifth class) £15.0.0 and (Captain Copenheffer's Company first class) £30.0.0 in York County. [11]

1778 Peter Weigle was listed in the 1st Class of Associators and Militia in York County, Fifth Company, Capt. Emanuel Herman. Sebastian was listed in the 4th Class and Leonhard Weigel and Simon Wiedmeyer were listed in the 5th Class. [12]

1779 Daughter Susanna was born to Rosina and baptized (Strayer's Salem Reformed Church) in September as witnessed by Leonard's brother Bastyen (Sebastian) and Catharine Weigel.

1779 Leonard Weigel was taxed £15.13.6 in Manchester Twp and for 50 acres and 2 horses in Bottstown. [13]

1780 Leonard Weigle [Wigel] was in Captain Reinhart Bott's company of the Manchester, York County, Militia. [14]

1780 Leonard Weigel was taxed £6.17.6 in Manchester Twp, York County for 50 acres, 1 horse, 2 cattle. [15]

1780 Leonard Weigel, joiner, was taxed £15.13.6 in Manchester Twp, York County for 50 acres of warranted land (not deeded), 2 horses, 2 horned cattle. [16]

1780 Peter Weigel, gunsmith, was taxed £3.4 for £4.15 ready mony, 1 horse and 1 cattle (no house or lot) in Manchester Twp, York County. Leonard Weigel was taxed £12.13.6, charged to Frederick Eichelberger, was listed on the same page with 1 house and ½ lot. [17]

1781 Leonard Weigel was taxed £2.0.4 in Manchester Twp for 70 acres, 2 horse, 2 cattle. [18]

1782 Leonard Weigel was a private in the York County Militia and apprehended British deserters under Sergeant John Wetzell and took them to Camp Security. [19]

1782 Leonard Weigel was taxed 3.9.6 pounds in Manchester Twp for 70 acres, 2 horse, 3 cattle. [20]

1783 Leonard Weigel [Weikel] of Manchester Twp, perhaps this one, was taxed £1.19.0 for 70 acres, 2 horses, 3 horned cattle, 3 sheep, 1 house, 4 inhabitants, valued at £125.5. [21] [22]

1785 Leonard Weigel, of Manchester Twp, York County, Pennsylvania, purchased land, in Newberry Twp, York County, from James Love. [23]

1787 Leonard Weigel purchased land from Michael and George Romich, all of Manchester Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. The land was adjacent to land of Leonard Weigel. witnessed by George Maul and Wm Kersey. Deed dated August 2. [24]

1788 Leonard Weigel, of Manchester Twp, York County, Pennsylvania, purchased land, in Newberry Twp, York County, from John Taylor. John Taylor had previously purchased the land from James Love. Dated May 5. [25]

1789 John Weikel was born on 19 January to parents Leonard and Rosina Weikel and was baptized on 9 June at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in York County. Sponsor Matthew Amendt. [26] [27]

1800 Leonard Weikle was listed on the septennial census for West Manchester Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [28]

1800 The will of Helena Billmyer in York County was dated 30 January and mentioned daughter Rosina, wife of Leonard Weigle. Executors: Elizabeth Billmyer and Peter Diehl. York Borough. Children: Michael, Andrew, Rosina wife of Leonard Weigle, Ann wife of Henry Shaffer, and Elizabeth.

1802 On 23 November, Leonard Weigel, Jr warranted 90 acres in West Manchester Twp, York County. [29] [30] [31]

1810 Leonard Weigle lived in West Manchester Twp, York County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (45 and over); and females: 1 (45 and over). [32]

1811 On 8 March, Leonard Weigle Jr was deeded two tracts of 68 and 8 acres in Springetsbury Manor. [33]

1820 Leonard Weare (perhaps Weigle) lived in West Manchester Twp, York County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (45 and over); and females: 1 (45 and over). [34] [35]

1821 On May 12, Leonard Weigle Jr was deeded 15 acres in York County. [36]

1825 John Leonard Weigel [Weigle] died [37] [38]. He was buried at Grof's cemetery at Shiloh-Union Church, York County, Pennsylvania [39]. The will of Leonard Weigle was written in German and was dated 18 July, 1825 in West Manchester, York County with executors Jacob Becker and Peter Weigle. Probate on 18 July 1825 refers to Administration Bond H-502. [40]

1825 A sheriff's sale notice described land from the estate of Michael Belshuber in West Manchester and Dover Townships adjoining lands of Michael Bentz, Jacob Weigel, Leonard Weigel.

1827 Peter Weigel and Jacob Becker, administrators of Leonard Weigel, produced an account with balance $365.40, dated February 13. [43]

1827 Rosina, widow of Leonard Weigel and daughter of Jacob Billmeyer, gave a release, dated March 10. [44]

1832 Rosina Weigel, widow of Leonard Weigel, and daughter of Jacob Billmeyer, deceased, released land from the estate of Jacob Billmeyer. The land included lots 54 and 55 in the borough of York. The land had been partitioned in 1793 among the four heirs. [45]

1835 Susanna Kindig, daughter of Rosina Weigle, deceased, and wife of Daniel Kindig gave a release for her inheritance from the estate of Jacob Billmeyer, decleased. [46]

1850 Heirs of Leonard Weigle and his daughter Elizabeth, wife of Abraham Linebaugh, made a land transaction, related to the estate. The first party was several Kendig relatives, living in Ohio. The second party was heirs of the widow Linebaugh, mostly of Pennsylvania. The land was in Conewago Twp, York County and had been owned by Leonard Weigle, deceased, of West Manchester Twp, York County. Leonard Weigle had granted the land, by his will dated April 5, 1825 and proved July 18, 1825, to daughter Elizabeth, wife of Abraham Linebaugh (now widow) and after her decease to the grandchildren, the said parties of the first part being one family of the testators grandchildren. The land was granted to the said parties of the second part (being Linebaugh heirs) the other family of the testator's grandchildren. [47]

Some researchers have reported a marriage between Leonard Wigle and Susanna Mays.

1823 These deed records can no longer be found. On 17 October, Leonard Weigle Jr was deeded 21 acres in Springetsbury Manor. [48] [49]
