1739 John Jacob Weigel, son of Martin [and Dorothy] Weigle, was born on November 19, in York County, Pennsylvania. [1]

1759 Martin Weigel, Jacob's father, died. Jacob Weigle (age 19) and Leonard Weigle (age 15), orphans of Martin Weigle, asked that George Kuntz, York Town tavern-keeper be their guardian. Dated March 28, at the York County Orphans' Court. [2]

1762 Jacob Weigel was a sponsor, as a young man, at the baptism of Susana Daner, daughter of Casper and Anna Barbara Daner, at Strayer's (Salem) Reformed Church in York County, Pennsylvania in May. [3]

1807 Jacob administrator, George, Jacob, Peter, John, Michael, and Martin Weigle were taxed with lots or land in a separate listing after Dover Twp, perhaps for Weiglestown. [59]

1809 Widow, George, Jacob, Peter, John, Michael, and Jacob ex'tr Weigle were taxed with lots or land in a separate listing after Dover Twp, for Weiglestown. [60]

1810 Two deeds described the division of land from the estate of Jacob Weigle, the Elder, deceased, late of Dover Twp, York County, Pennsylvania among his heirs: Henry Weigle, Margaret Weigle married to Godfrey Kleindienst, Jacob Weigle, Martin Weigle, Peter Weigle, George Weigle, Michael Weigle, and David Weigle who sold their shares to John Weigle farmer of Weiglestown, all sons and one daughter of Jacob, deceased. The land was on both the north and south sides of the great road leading through Weiglestown from York to Carlisle, adjoining lands of Alexander Underwood, Michael Bentz, Baltzer Hamm, Henry Whitmer, George Leckron, John Shrom, and others. Jacob died intestate and left a widow and the heirs named above. Lots were released to Peter, Jacob, Martin, Margaret the widow, Michael, David, and George. Dated March 31. All signed the deed except widow Margaret. [61] The next deed was a release of land in Springetsbury Manor, by John R Coates and wife Sarah, to John Weigle. [62] [63]

1810 Wido, George, Jacob, Peter, John, Michael, and Jacob hairs Weigle were taxed with lots or land in a separate listing after Dover Twp, for Weiglestown. [64] Another listing included David. [65]

1812 Widow, George, Jacob, John, and David Weigle were taxed with lots or land in a separate listing after Dover Twp, for Weiglestown. [66] Michael was listed in Dover Twp. [67]

1814 Margaret Weigle, widow of Manheim Twp, York County, purchased lot 93 in the town of Hanover from George and Elizabeth Groaf. The deed was dated April 8 and was witnessed by Henry Welsh and John L. Hinkle. [68]

1817 The heirs of Jacob Wiegel granted land to John Weigel by deed, dated March 1, 1810. [69] Abstract:

Henry Weigel, Margaret Weigel intermarried with Godfry Kleindinst, Jacob Weigel, Martin Weigel, Peter Weigel, George Weigel, Michael Weigel and David Weigel, sons and only one daughter, all heirs and legal representatives of Jacob Weigel the elder, late of the Township of Dover in the County of York and State of Pennsylvania Yeoman, deceased ? for and in consideration of the sum of one thousand eight hundred and five pounds in real gold or silver money current in Pennsylvania to them in hand paid by John Weigel of Weigels Town in the Township of Dover and County of York aforesaid, farmer, also one of the sons and legal representatives of the above named Jacob Weigel the elder deceased ? all of the estate and estates, shares, purports and dividends right title and interest property claim or demand whatsoever of them the heirs respectively abovementioned in law or equity or otherwise howsoever of in to or out of all that messuage or tenement plantation and tract or piece of land situate lying and being part on the North side and part on the South side of the Great Road leading through Weigel's Town from York to Carlisle in the townships of Dover and Manchester in the County of York aforesaid in the actual possession and (illegible) of the said John Weigel now being adjoining the lands now of Alexander Underwood, Michael Bentz, Baltzer Hamm, Henry Whitmer, George Leckron, John Shrom and others Containing one hundred and sixty two acres twenty seven perches and allowance Being the same tract of land the right and title to which by sundry means conveyances releases and other good assurances in the law duly had and executed became lawfully and rightly vested in Jacob Weigel the elder above named who died intestate leaving a widow and the children above named lawful issue to survive him ? granted by deeds of release lot number one to Peter Weigle, number two to Jacob Weigel, number three to Martin Weigel, number five to Margaret Weigel, the widow, number six to Michael Weigel, number seven to David Weigel and number eight to George Weigel containing together in all five acres neat measure ? Witness: John Forsyth, Peter Spangler, Jacob Spangler. Proved by the makers on 31 March 1810. Recorded 11 April 1817.

1825 A sheriff's sale notice described land from the estate of Michael Belshuber in West Manchester and Dover Townships adjoining lands of Michael Bentz, Jacob Weigel, Leonard Weigel.

1838 Maria Margaret Weigle's will was written in German, dated October 15. The will mentioned a lot in Weigelstown. The will named sons Michael Weigel, David Weigel, The will was affirmed on July 9, 1838. [80]

1839 The estate of Jacob Weigle was auctioned. The property described was in Dover and Manchester townships adjacent to lands of Michael Beltzhoover and Michael Bentz and David Weigle. Also property in Springgetsbury Manor. This description matches the description of the land of Jacob Weigle [see the deeds dated 1810], who had died by 1804. Perhaps his estate was not finalized until after the death of widow Margaretha in 1838. [81]

The following described place or parcel of land situate, lying and being part in Dover and part in Manchester Townships, in the County of York aforesaid, bounded and limited, as follows: Beginning at a post extending thence along the Carlisle load south 75 degrees and 3.4 east 13 perches and 2-10 to a post, extending thence with lands of Alexander Underwood north 38 degrees and 1-4 east 64 perches and 6-10 to a whiteoak, north 88 1-2 degrees east 7 perches and 3-10 to a hickory, and thence north 35 degrees east 119 1-2 perches to a heap of Stones, extending thence with lands of Michael Bentz, north 71 1-2 degrees west 46 6-10 perches to a white oak, thence extending with lands of Ballzer Hamm south 36 3-4 degrees west 135 perches to a white oak tree marked for a corner, extending thence with the other part of the whole tract formerly belonging to Michael Beltzhoover south 81 3-4 degrees east 5 perches & 4-10 to a post south 13 degrees and 3-4 west 108-10 perches to a small walnut, extending thence with Lot number two now the property of said Jacob Weigle and lot number one the property of David Weigle south 53-4 degrees east 12 perches to a post, thence extending with the latter south 15 degrees west 21 perches and 9-10 to the place of beginning, tontaining forty five acres and ninety nine perches and the usual allowance and also the following piece or parcel of ground situate in Weigles Town in said township known on the general plan of said town by number two beginning at a post on Carlisle Street thence along the same north seventy five degrees and three quarters, west seven perches and two tenths to a post, extending thence with the other part of the whole tract formerly in the tenure of Michael Beltzhoover North fifteen degrees east twenty one perches and nine tenths to a small walnut tree, thence with lands now in the tenure of said Jacob Weigle south seventy five degrees and three quarters, east seven perches and two tenths to a post extending thence with lot number one the property of David Weigle, south fifteen degrees, west twenty one perches and nine tenths to the place of beginning, containing three quarters of an acre and thirty seven perches neat measure. And also, all that tract or piece of land, situate in Springgettsbury manor, Dover township, York county, beginning at a post in the Manor line, thence with the other part of the tract formerly in the possession of Michael Beltzhoover, south fifteen degrees, west thirteen perches and seven tenths to a post on Carlisle street, thence along said street south seventy five and three quarter degrees, east twenty five perches and four tenths to a willow tree, thence with land in the possession of Alexander Underwood, north thirty-eight degrees, east fifty perches to a post in the Manor line, thence along the same south si Tty -nine degrees, west fifty five perches and six tenths to the beginning, containing five acres and a quarter and allowance, together with the hereditaments and appurtenances.

1847 Henry Boyer, executor of Margaret Weigle deceased, was named among a list of creditors of the estate of George W Hinkle. [83]
