1761 Simon Witmeyer was born on February 6, and he was baptized on April 19, at Christ Lutheran Church, York, York County, Pennsylvania to Simon and Maria Widemeyer. Sponsors were Jacob and Magdalen Schneider. [1] [2]

1776 Simon Witmeyer was confirmed on Whitsunday at age 15.

1778 Simon Witmeyer [Wiedmeyer] of Manchester Twp was private Fifth Class, Fifth Company (Captain Emanuel Herman). This unit became the First Co, Third battalion (Capt Reinhard Bott) in 1780,82. Simon Wiltmyer was private second class in Captain Rinehart Butt's company. Siemon Withmeier was a private in the York Co Militia that took British deserters to the stockade at Fort Security in York Co on January 1782. [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]

1781 Simon Wittmeyer was taxed for 110 acres in Manchester Twp, York County. [9] Simon Wittmeyer Junior was not listed.

1781 Simon Widmier was among 20 men named in class 3 for Manchester Twp, York County, which was to provide one able-bodied recruit for the Continental Army. [10] [11]

1782 Simon Wittmeyer Senior (150 acres) and Simon Wittmeyer Junior (no assets listed) were taxed in Manchester Twp, York County. [12]

1783 Simon Witmeyer, Jr, was taxed in Manchester Twp, York County for 2 inhabitants [13] [14]

1783 Anna Maria Witmeier, daughter of Simon and Elizabeth Witmeier, was born on April 29. She was baptized on May 1, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in York County. [15]

1797 Simon and Elizabeth Wittmeyer were sponors at the baptism of Elizabeth Waldman, daughter of Nicholas and Elizabeth Waldman, on August 13 at Wolf's (St. Paul's) Reformed Lutheran Church, West Manchester Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [26] [27] [28]

1798 Sarah Witmeyer, child of Simon Witmeyer and Elizabeth, was born on April 19. Sarah Witmeyer was baptized on June 10 at Christ Lutheran Church, York Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [29]

1798 Simon Witmeyer Jr was on the U.S. direct tax list for Manchester, York County, Pennsylvania for a one story wood house, 26 by 24 feet, with 3 windows and 24 lights, on a 2 acre lot. 1807 Daniel Wittmeyer, child of Simon Wittmeyer and Elizabeth, was born on May 10, 1807. Daniel Wittmeyer was baptized on June 7 at Christ Lutheran Church, York Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [38]

1810 Simon Witmeyer was Supervisor of the Highways in West Manchester Twp, York County. [39]

1810 Simon Wittmier lived in West Manchester Twp, York County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 2 (under 10), 1 (10 thru 15), and 1 (45 and over); and females: 1 (under 10), 1 (10 thru 15), 3 (16 thru 25), and 2 (45 and over). The adjacent listing was for brother-in-law Peter Weigle in Manchester Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [40]

1810 Simon Wittmeyer was granted land, on December 20, in the Manor of Springetsbury, West Manchester Twp, York County by John R Coates and wife Sarah Coates, for John Penn. The 164 acres of land were adjacent to lands of John Gardner, Jacob Hoke, Andrew Stouch, Peter Wolf Jr, Leonard Lechron, and George Eisenhart and was part of a larger tract warranted by Jacob Welsh by certificate under the hand of George Stevenson dated 1752. The land was surveyed in the name of Simon Widmeyer by Charles Lukens on a warrant dated April 2, 1767. Recorded June 8, 1826. Simon Witmeyer sold the land to Peter Eister by deed 3I-158 on June 8, 1826. [41]

1834 The will of Simon Witmeyer was proved on April 15, in Windsor Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. The will was dated March 20, 1834 and named wife Mary Witmeyer, and all my children except son Jacob Witmeyer, who got $50 less than the others. [45]

Research Notes:

1830 Simon Witmeyer has not been found in the 1830 census. Jacob Wittmyer, a possible son, lived close to Magdalena and Henry Weigle in West Manchester, York County, Pennsylvania.
