Notes for Simon Wittmeyer and Anna Maria Klingenmayer

1724 Anna Maria Klingenmaÿer, daughter of Cunrad Klingenmaÿer and Magdalena Sophia, was baptized on October 21, 1724 at the Evangelische Kirche Höfingen (OA. Leonberg), Höfingen, Neckarkreis, Württemberg, Germany. [1] [2] The sponsors were (German): Hanns Michel Schmid Müller allhier Maria Sophia Schweickherin Pastoris uxor und Anna Maria, Johannes Widmaÿer uxor aus von hier.

We know that Simon Wittmeyer was born in Europe because he immigrated to America in 1751. We do not know when or where, specifically, Simon Wittmeyer was born. We seek evidence about his birth place and birth date.

c 1750 Simon Wittmeyer married Anna Maria Klingenmeyer, daughter of Conrad and Magdalena Klingemeyer (date and place unknown, but perhaps around 1750). We seek documentation about this marriage, which is inferred by the 1759 will of Conrad Klingenmeyer (Anna Maria's father), which named Simon Wittmeyer as the spouse of daughter Anna Maria. Simon was the administrator for Conrad's estate. A Widmayer family interacted with the Klingenmayer family in Höfingen [see the sponsors of the baptism of Anna Maria Klingenmayer and the Research Notes: below].
