1911 In the census of Canada, Martin Quinn, born Aprill 1882, and his wife, Nettie, born August 1879, lived at 205 John in Hamilton, Ontario, with their children Martin, born August 1904, and Phylis, born September 1906. Martin was a machinist. Sarah Quinn and her children John, Eleanor, Raymond, and Curtona lived in the same household. Nettie was a Methodist and the others were Roman Catholic. John was a printer, Eleanor was a milliner, Raymond was a shoe cutter, and Curtona was a presser. [1]

1913 Helen Quinn, daughter of Martin Quinn and Nettie Murray, was born on August 18 at 207 John North, Hamilton, Ontario. Her parents were married in Buffalo in September 1902 and her father was a machinist. [2]

1915 Nettie Quinn died on September 30 in Hamilton, Ontario, and she was buried in Hamilton Cemetery. She was age 34 and born in Bartonville. Her father was John Murray and her mother was Cath Burkholder. She died of Chronic Brights, duration 2 years. The informant was Martin Quinn of 180 Stirton Street. [3]

1921 In the census of Canada, Martin Quinn, widower, age 39, lived at 35 Barton W. in Hamilton, Ontario, Ward 5, with his mother Sarah, age 60, and his children Martin Jr, Phyllis, and Helen, ages 17, 15, and 7. [4]

1930 In the U.S. census, Martin Quinn (age 48, widower), Martin Jr. (age 27), Phyliss (age 24), and Helen (age 16) were boarders in the household of Olive Mitchell (age 47, landlady) at 390 West Gd Blvd in ward 12 precinct 4 (bounded by (N) Vernor Hwy.; (E) 24th; (S) Lafayette Blvd.; (W) W. Grand Blvd.) of Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Martin was a die maker in an auto factory. Martin immigrated in 1924 and his son and daughters in 1925. Martin Jr was a checker in an autofactory and Phylis was a wrapper in a drug co. [5]

1934 Martin Quinn and Ann McKeller were married on February 10 in Detroit, Michigan by John Connolly, Catholic Priest. The witnesses were Martin Quinn Jr and Phyllis Quinn. Martin and Ann had each been married once previously. Martin's parents were John Quinn and Sarah Crofton. Ann's maiden name was Kinsvater. Her parents were August Kinsvater and Louise Layman. [6]

1940 In the U.S. census, Martin Quinn (age 57) and his wife Anne (age 52) lived at 815 Third Ave in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, with Martin's son Martin Jr (age 36) and daughter Phylis (age 33). Martin was a tool & die maker in an automobile mfg factory, Martin Jr was a tool room stock keeper in an automobile factory, and Phylis was a medicine bottler in a wholesale drug factory. The family lived in the same house in 1935. [7] Joseph Herz (age 33) and his wife Helen (age 27) lived at 4718 Field in Detroit with son Michael (age 3). Joseph was an inspector at Western Electric. The family lived in the same house in 1935. [8]
