[1] Gerhard's birthdate was listed as May, 1709 in a birth-baptism record of the 11 children of Gerhard and Anna Maria, found in the Reformed Church of Cocallico (1766). 1731 Gerhard Koffroth left Flamersfeld, Germany. Gerhart's father, Wilhelm of Heckenham, paid Gerhart's exit fee. [81] The Koffroth family settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania soon after 1730. [82]

1734 Gerhard Cafferoth (X) was one of several signers of a letter to Reverend Boehm of Philadelphia describing their attempts to raise money to build a church by sending representatives Weiss and Reiff to Holland where they did get money, but could not account for it upon their return to America. [83]

1735 Gerhart Koffroth and Maria Barbara Beck were married. [84] [85]

1737 Gerhard Cuffroot received a warrant for 150 acres in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, on a large branch of Cocalico Creek. The warrant was returned on September 18, 1853. [86] The tract was surveyed on October 22. [87] David Gerard Cuffroot received a patent for the land in 1758 (see top of page 438 for the full name). [88] The tract was adjacent to land of Henry Bear [89], John Sheefer [90], Andreas Holsbaum [91], and Nicholas Surface [92], and Ludwick Plumb, across the river [93].

1756 Gerhard Caffroth was taxed for 100 acres, 6 acres winter grain, 2 horses, 1 mares, 2 cows, and 2 sheep,in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County. [96] [97]

1757 Gerhard Coffrod was taxed in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County. [98]

1758 Gerhard Cofferoth was the tax collector in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County. [99]

1758 Gerhard Kafferoth was taxed for 120 acres in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County. [100]

1759 Gerhard Cafferoth was taxed for 100 acres in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County. [101]

1753 Three children, orphans of John Keller, chose Garrard Coffroad and Mathias Beckley as their guardians [102]. John Bare and Garrard Caffroad were appointed as guardians of two minor children of Christian Bollinger [103]. [104]

1754 Eberhart Coughrought, possibly this Gerhard Koffroth, was taxed for a half lot in Lancaster Borough, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [105]

1756 Gerhard Caffroth was taxed in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County. [106] [107]

1761 Gerhard Kafroth was naturalized on March 24 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. "At a Supreme Court held at Philadelphia before William Allen and William Coleman, Esq., judges of the said court, on the 10th and 11th days of April in the year of our Lord 1761, between the hours of 9 and 12 o'clock of the forenoon of the same day, the following persons being foreigners, were naturalized in the Province of Pennsylvania: Gerhart Kafroth, Lancaster County, Sacrament 24 March, 1761". 1761 Maria Barbara died and was buried at Cocalico Church. [112] [113]

1763 Gernart Kaffered was taxed in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County. [114]

1769 Fredericka Magdalene Hoffman, daughter of Adam and Barbara Hoffman, was born on September 24. She was baptised on October 27, at the Heidelberg Reformed Church, in Schaefferstown, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, with sponsors Eva Fredericka Cafferoth and Gerhard Cafferoth. [115] [116]

1771 Gerhard Kofroad was taxed for 50 acres, 2 horses, and 3 cattle in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [117] Henry Kaffrode, perhaps Gerhard's son, was also taxed.

1772 Gerhard Kofrott was taxed for 30 acres cleared, 20 acres wooded, 2 horses, 3 cattle, and 6 sheep, in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [118] [119]

1773 Gerhard Kofrott was taxed for 40 acres cleared, 10 acres wooded, 2 horses, 2 cattle, and 6 sheep, in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [120] [121]

1775 Gerhard and Henry Koffroth were taxed in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [122]

1775 Son Jacob reached age 21 and from this time on, sons Jacob and Henry Koffroth were taxed, and Gerhard did not appear on the tax lists. [see the notes of the sons Jacob and Henry]

1785 Gerhard Coffroth sold a 160 acre tract in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, on a branch of Cocalico Creek, to Jacob Coffroth on December 10. The land was next to land of John Shaeffer, Nicholas Surface (now Henry Coffroth), Henry Bear (now deceased). The land was patented by Gerhard Coffroth on September 20, 1753. [123] Two other tracts were granted simultaneously from the original patent granted to William Dishong, stockingweaver of Cocalico, and to Gerhard's son Henry. [124] [125] [126]

1790 Jacob Kaffrode lived in Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in a household with 1 male under age 16, 2 males age 16+, and 3 females. [127]

1796 The will of Gerhard Coffroth was dated December 10, 1785 and was in probate on March 28, 1796. Children: Elizabeth, Barbara, Catharine, Dorothea, Christiana, Henry and Jacob. Executors Henry and Jacob. Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [I] bequeath to my beloved daughters Elizabeth, Barbara, [Catharine], Dorothy & Christina two certain bonds or obligations bearing equally date[?] with this presents. One of them is conditioned for the payment ... of 134 pounds 4 pence 15 shillings payable from my eldest son Henry Koffroth to me on ... yearly payments after my decease ... the other is conditioned for the payment ... of 533 pounds 1 shilling 11 pence ... payable from my youngest son Jacob Koffroth to me on ... yearly payments after my decease .... the first yearly payment of each ... after my decease to be paid to my Daughter Elizabeth ...the second yearly payment.., to my daughter Barbara ... the third yearly payment ...to my daughter Catharina ... and the fourth yearly payment ... to my daughter Dorothy ... and the fifth yearly payment ... to ... youngest daughter Christina ... and then the sixth payment ... to my daughter Elizabeth ... and so on from my eldest daughter to my youngest .... My sons Henry and Jacob shall have no share of the money of the aforesaid Bonds ... as they have instead ... received heretofore full satisfaction in purchasing all my Land or plantation in Cocalico Township ... All the remainder of my personal estate ... shall be equally divided among all my children ... I do hereby appoint my said live sons Henry & Jacob Caffroth to be my Executors... In witness whereof I set my hand and seal this 10th day of December 1785 ... in the presence of Henry Ream, Adam Nusthe. Proved 28th day of March 1796. [128] [129]

1796 Gerhard Kafroth died in February, 1796 and was buried at the Cocalico Reformed Graveyard. He was born in May, 1707. [130]

1796 Adam Hoffman and Barbara, his wife, John Ernst and Catharine, his wife, George Michael Olland and Dorothea, his wife, Jacob Gerber and Christina, his wife, (the said Barbara, Catharina, Dorothea and Christina being four daughters of Gerhard Koffroth, late of Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, Penna, Yeoman deceased) have,., received of Henry Koffroth and Jacob Koffroth, Executors of... Gerhard Koffroth .. for each the ... sum of ... £136 .,. payment in full for their share ... of the estate of Gerhard Koffroth. In consideration whereof [they] ... release Henry Koffroth & Jacob Koffroth. Dated May 2. [131]

1797 "Conrad Myer, Mathias Myer, Henry Noll and Regina his wife, Frederick Myer, David Myer, Peter Myer and Elizabeth Myer all of York County, Penna" ... Gerhard Koffroth, late of Cocalico Twp, Lancaster County, Penna, bequeathed to his daughter Elizabeth, late the wife of Peter Meyer deceased, a legacy ... of £136. And... Peter Meyer and Elizabeth his wife died in the lifetime of Gerhard Caffroth and left issue, 10 children, the above named Conrad ... Mathias ... Regina... Frederick ...David ... Peter... and Henry Myer (who being an idiot non compos mentis) and Adam Meyer who being under lawful age and one other daughter to .. whom said legacy ... to Elizabeth ... is to be paid.
