1785-86 Francis Gantz was taxed in Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [4] [5] George was taxed as a single man. [6] [7]

1792 John Gantz (230 acres) and George Gantz (200 acres) were taxed in Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [8] John (perhaps a brother of George) does not appear in subsequent listings. George, perhaps son of Frans Heinrich, is listed from 1793-1815 with 400+ acres. Perhaps George took over both farms.

1789 John Gantz (230 acres) and George Gantz (160 acres) were taxed in Codorus Twp. [9] [10]

1797 Barbara Gantz, daughter of Georg and Catrina Gantz was born on February 4. She was baptized on March 15, 1797 at Fissel's (Jerusalem) Union Church, Shrewsbury Township, York County, Pennsylvania with sponsors Adam and Barbara Hofman (grandparents). [12]

1798 George Gantz was listed on the U.S. direct Pennsylvania tax rolls for Codorus Twp, York County, with a wood springhouse [31]. George Gantz owned a house and half stone barn adjacent to Deobald Snyder and another house occupied by Christopher Fisher adjacent to John Ruhl [32]. [33] [34] [35]

1800 George Gantz lived in Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 2 (under 10), 1 (10 thru 15), 1 (26 thru 44), and 1 (45 and over); and females: 2 (under 10), 1 (10 thru 15), and 1 (26 thru 44). [36]

1810 George Gouts lived in Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 4 (under 10), 1 (10 thru 15), 1 (16 thru 25), and 1 (45 and over); and females: 2 (under 10), 1 (10 thru 15), 3 (16 thru 25), and 1 (45 and over). [37]

1815 Johan Georg Gantz died on November 29 at York County, Pennsylvania and was buried at New Hope United Church of Christ Cemetery, Glen Rock, York County, Pennsylvania. Johan Georg Gantz was born on August 21, 1763. [38] [39]

Johan Georg was the son of Frans Heinrich & Anna Margaretha Ruhl Gans, & the husband of (1st) Margaretha, & (2nd) Catrina. He was the father of Magdalena Gantz, Juliana Gantz, George Gantz, Sarah Gantz, & John Gantz.
Johan Georg was a blacksmith. He was born & died in Codorus Twp., York Co., PA.

Johan had 12 children. 5 with his first wife and 7 with the second.

1816-1819 Widow of George Gantz was taxed in Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [40] [41] [42]

1819 George, son of George was taxed. [43]

1820 Widow Gonce was listed in Codorus Twp. However, both the widows of brothers John and George were likely living there in 1820). It is unclear which was listged and the image is hard to read. [44] [45]

1830 Catharine Gantz lived in Codorus Twp, York County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (under 5) and 1 (20 thru 29); and females: 2 (under 5), 1 (20 thru 29), and 1 (60 thru 69). [46]

1841 Catherine reportedly died on September 28, 1841 in Shrewsbury Twp, York County, Pennsylvania and was buried on October 1, 1841 at Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery, Shrewsbury Twp, York County, Pennsylvania. [47] [48]

1842 The heirs of George Gantz late of York County gave releases of their shares of the estate to Jacob Bortner. The heirs were George Gantz, Daniel Ziegler and wife Juliana Gantz Ziegler, widow Sarah Gantz Baltzly, John Gantz, Jacob Olb and wife Barbara Gantz Olb, Adam Gantz, Daniel Glatfelter and wife Catharine Gantz Glatfelter, Samuel Gantz, Henry Schwartx (Black) and wife Mary Gantz Black, and David Gantz. Land from the estate was divided into three parts and was appraised by order of the orphans court. Parcel 2 was decreed on May 31, 1817 unto Jacob Peterman intermarried with Magdalena the eldest daughter of the deceased, who had obligations to the widow and other heirs. Jacob Peterman and wife Magdalena sold the land to Jacob Bortner Senior by deed dated April 1, 1820. Jacob Bortner paid the other heirs and was released by them. [49]

1788 Magdalena Gantz, child of Georg Gantz (perhaps a son) and Margaretha Gantz, was baptized on March 21, 1788, in St Jacobs (Stone), Brodbecks, York County, Pennsylvania. Magdalena Gantz was born on February 21, 1788, in Pennsylvania. [50] Perhaps George had a first wife before he married Catherine Hoffman.
