1652 A home in West Northdown was built in 1652, perhaps for Richard Omer and Sarah Henneker. The modern address is 1380 Omer Avenue No. 16, Margate, Kent, England. [4]. British Listed Buildings provides the following description of Richard and Sarah's home: [5]

Omer Avenue 1380 (East Side) No 16 (Farmhouse) and Stable Cottage adjoining TR 3770 7/77B lO.4.51. Dated 1652 in brick on the west wall. 2 storeys and attic. Ground floor is of squared knapped flints with brick dressings and quoins. The first floor is of flints with a diaper pattern in red brick. 2 brick stringcourses above ground floor with courses of brick and flints alternately between them. Tiled roof. 2 modern casement windows and 2 hipped dormers. Flint and brick porch, with shaped Dutch gable, red brick quoins and round-headed brick archway. The side of the house is of flints with red brick quoins and string courses as on the front. Stable Cottage is of 1 storey flint and brick with a half-hipped tiled roof having 2 hipped dormers. Buttresses.

1653 "James the son of Richard Omer" was baptized on August 25 in St John the Baptist, Margate, Kent. [6]

1654/55 "Elizabeth daughter of Richard and Sara Omer" was born on March 1 in St John the Baptist, Margate, Kent. [7]

1656 Richard Omer signed a statement supporting the minister Richard Culmer. [8]

We Parishioners of St Johns in Thanet in the Isle of Thanet, in the County of Kent, whose Names are here under written, do hereby certifie, that Mr. Richard Culmer Minister of Mynster in the said Isle, doth (with others) freely preach a weekly Lecture in the said Parish, to the good like of the said Parishioners; and that we receive much benefit by the Ministry, to our Edification and Consolation: In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands this ninth day of August 1656.

1657 "Elizabeth daughter of Richard & Sarah Omer" was buried on November 2 in St John the Baptist, Margate, Kent. [11]

1660 "Sarah Daughter of Richard and Sarah Omer" was born "the 9o day of June" in St. John the Baptist, Margate, Kent. [12]

1661/62 Richard Omer was buried on January 29 in St John the Baptist parish, Margate [13] and "Buried Richard Omer yeoman 29 January 1661/62" [14] [15] [16] [17]

1662 Sarah Omer wrote her will on December 14. She left her two young children, Roger and Sarah, in the care of her brother-in-law Richard Taddy. [18]

In the name of God Amen the fowertenth day of December In the fowertenth yeare of the raigne of our soueraigne lord King Charles by the grace of God now King of England &c [1662] I Sarah Omer of the parish of St John Baptist in the Isle of Thannett in the County of Kent Relicte of Richard Omer late of St Johns aforesaid yeoman deceased being at this time sicke and weake in bodie but of sound and perfect memorie praised be God therefore doe advisedly and deliberately make and ordeyne this my last will and testament in manner and forme following (that is to saie) First I commend my soule into the protection of Almightie God my maker And my bodie to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executor heerafter named Item I give unto my Cousin Edward Taddy son of my sister Marie the summe of Five pounds to be paid unto him at his age of twentie yeares Item I give and bequeath unto James Coppin Roger Coppin Sarah Coppin and Elizabeth Coppin children of my sister Elizabeth Coppin late wife of Roger Coppin deceased the summe of twentie shillings apeece to be severally paid unto them at their severall ages of twentie yeares Item I give and bequeath unto my cousins John Laming Roger Laming and Joane Laming children of my brother Roger Laming the summe of twentie shillings appeece to be severally paid unto them at their severall ages of twentie yeares Item I give and bequeath unto my son Roger Omer the summe of five pounds of lawfull monie of England to be paid unto him at his age of seaventeene years by my Executor notwithstanding his porcon allowed him by the Spirituall Court at Canterburie Item I give unto my Daughter Sarah Omer my best bed and bedsteddle as the same is now furnished together with all other my moveable goods and plate now standing in my best chamber to be delivered to her by my Executor and alsoo all my best lynnen and pewter when she shall accomplish her age of eighteene years or daie of marriage wch. shall first happen And my will and meaning is that if either of my said children shall depart this life before they shall attaine their severall ages aforesaid that the survivor of him or her soe dying shall receive and take his or her porcon heerby bequeathed and that at such times as he or she soe dying ought to have received the same And if in case it shall please God both my said children shall depart this life before they accomplish the severall ages aforesaid Then I will give and bequeath their said severall legacies aforesaid unto the children of my brother in law Richard Taddy and my sister Elizabeth Coppin to be equally diuided betweene them, And all the rest of my moveable goods Chattle and Chattles bonds bills books debts accompte and reudie monie whatsoever heerin and heerby not bequeathed I wholly give and devise the same unto my said brother Richard Taddy to be by him used and imployed for and towards the maintaynance and education of my said children untill they shall attaine their severall ages aforesaid And from and after such time as my said daughter Sarah shall accomplish her age aforesaid or day of marriage Then my will and meaning is that my said brother Richard Taddy shall passe in Accompt of my whole estate which shall come to his hande and after my debts legacies and funerell expenses are satisfied and paid shall returne and paie the remaynder and overplus of my whole estate unto my said daughter Sarah & her heires forever Neverthelesse if both my said children doe die before they attaine their ages aforesaid That then the remaynder or overplus of my whole estate last menconed shalbe likewise equally divided between the children of my said brother Richard Taddy and children of my said sister Elizabeth Coppin and to noe other use whatsoever Item I will and bequeath unto the poore people of the parish of St. John the Baptist aforesaid the summe of five pounds of lawfull monie of England to be distributed unto them within one month next after my decease And of this my last will and testament I doe make and ordeyne my said brother Richard Taddy my full and sole Executor Revoking all former wills by me made and granted and desiring him carefully and trewly to performe the same In witness whereof I the said Sarah Omer have to three sheets of paper subscribed my name and affixed my seale the day and yeare first above written.

1662 Sarah Omer was buried on December 20 in St John the Baptist parish, less than a year after her husband Richard: "Decembe r 20th Buried Sarah widd of Richard Omer" [19] and "December ye 20th buried Sarah widd of Richard Omer" [20] [21] [22] [23].

1662/63 The will of Sarah Omer was proved 23 February in the Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury with administration granted to Richard Taddy. [24]
