Notes for Jacob Lamberson and Christina Baltzly

1805 Land was surveyed, on May 9, for Samuel Taylor and Thomas Kennedy in Dublin Twp, Bedford County. Adjacent lots were owned by John Chesnut (Survey B16-59, see note dated 1814) and James Lindsey (perhaps the same lot surveyed for Jacob Lamison, survey C110-105, date 1842). [1]

1810 Jacob Lamiston (age 26-44) lived in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania with 3 males (age 0-10), 2 females (age 0-10, and 1 female (age 16-25). [2]

1812 On 7 January, at the Adams County Orphans Court: "James Horner Esquire, High Sheriff of the County of Adams ... find that the said tract of land cannot be divided... without prejudice to and spoiling of the whole ... do value the said tract of land ... for the sum of three thousand two hundred dollars ... " "The written refusal of Henry Balsley, eldest son of Henry Balsley deceased to accept his father's estate at valuation made thereof was read to the court. Came into court John Balsley the second oldest son of Henry Balsley deceased and refuses to accept of his fathers estate at valuation. The written refusal of Jacob Lameson intermarried with Catharine the next eldest heir of Henry Balsley deceased to accept of the estate of the said deceased at valuation, was read to the court and filed." ... "And now came into court Samuel Meals intermarried with Mary the next eldest heir ... and prayed to be permitted to take the estate of the said deceased at the valuation, he paying unto the widow & heirs their respective shares thereof." 1814 Land, in Dublin Twp, Bedford County, was surveyed for William Chesnut on September 7. The survey was returned on 14 March, 1818. Adjacent lots were owned by Jacob Lamison and Samuel Taylor. [4]

1820 Jacob Lamson (age 45+) lived in Dublin Twp, Bedford County, Pennsylvania with 3 males (age 0-10), 1 male (age 10-16), 1 male (age 16-18), 1 male (age 16-26), three females (age 0-10), 1 female (age 10-16), and 1 female (age 26-45). William Chesnut was listed on the same census page [see 1842 land warrant] [5]

1830 Jacob Lamason (age 50-60) lived in Dublin Twp, Bedford County, Pennsylvania with 1 males (age 10-15), 1 male (age 20-30), 1 female (age 5-10), and 1 female (age 50-60). [6]

1840 Jacob Lamberson (age 60-70) lived in Dublin Twp, Bedford County, Pennsylvania with one male (age 20-30) and female (age 60-70). [7]

1842 Jacob Lamberson Sr had 220 acres surveyed in Dublin Twp, Bedford County, Pennsylvania on January 19. [8] [9] [10]. Daniel Lamberson was the patentee on 5 December 1859 [11].

1849 Jacob Lamberson died on March 11, perhaps at age 85, and was buried at Davis Lane Cemetery, Fulton County, Pennsylvania. [12]

1850 Jacob Lamberson (age 42) and Anna Lamberson (age 38) lived in Taylor Twp, Fulton County, Pennsylvania with children Daniel (age 11), Samuel H (age 6), and Mary E B (age 3) and with Christina Lamberson (age 73). [13]

1850 Mary Murray (age 48) lived at West Providence, Bedford County, Pennsylvania with Thomas (age 24), George (age 22), William (age 20) and Mary C (age 16). [14]

1852 At the August term of the Fulton County Orphans Court [15] [16] [17] [18] [19]:

The petition of Jacob Lamberson, respectfully showeth: that Jacob Lamberson late of Taylor township in said county died on the 11th day of March A.D. 1848, leaving him surviving, his widow, Christina Lamberson, residing in Taylor township, Fulton County, and the following children, to wit: Mary Lamberson intermarried with William Murray, late of Bloody Run, both now deceased, leaving them surviving the following children, to wit: Thomas Murray, Bedford County, Michael Murray, Blair County, George Murray, and Mary Murray and William Murray, all of Bedford County, the two last being yet in their minority; Elizabeth Lamberson intermarried with Christopher Nogle, residing in Somerset County; Jacob Lamberson, your petitioner, Taylor township, Fulton County; John Lamberson, Taylor township; Susan Lamberson intermarried with Isaac Clark, Bedford County; Samuel Lamberson, Franklin Co, Indiana; Christina Lamberson, intermarried with Thomas Kagerice, late of Randolph Co Indiana dec; Benjamin Lamberson, Taylor township, Fulton County; and Sarah Lamberson, intermarried with James Fields, Taylor township, Fulton County. The said Jacob Lamberson died intestate seized in his demesne of fee of and in the following described real estate situate in Taylor township, Fulton County, Pennsylvania, to wit: the mansion tract containing about two hundred acres, more or less, adjoining other lands of decedent on the North, lands of John A Keepers, and Daniel Lamberson on the west, with about eighty acres thereof cleared and under fence, with a two storied log dwelling house and a log barn thereon executed. Also, another tract of unimproved land, warranted in the name of John McCandless, containing three hundred and ten acres, more or less, adjoining land of George Newman on the North - on the south land of John Lamberson and other land of decedent, on the east by land of Curfman's heirs and on the west by land of Andrew Shaw. Your petitioner therefore prays that your honors award an inquest to make partition of the premises aforesaid to and amongst as by the laws of this Commonwealth is directed, if such partition can be cannot be made thereof, then to value and appraise the same, and make return of their proceedings according to law. August 2, 1852.

1860 Son Daniel Lamberson (age 43) lived in Taylor Twp, Fulton County, Pennsylvania with Christiana Lamberson (age 84) and children. [20]

1860 On 12 November, Christina Lamberson dated her will in Fulton County, Pennsylvania. She named sons Jacob, John, Daniel, Samuel and daughters Elizabeth Naugle, Susan Clark, Christina Kegarlee, Mary Muray (deceased), Sarah Fields. The "old place" and "the place he [Daniel] bought from the estate after my husband [Jacob] death" were mentioned. Son Daniel was named executor. Probate date was 11 March 1861. [21]

1861 Christina Lamberson died on March 2 and was buried at Davis Lane Cemetery, Fulton County, Pennsylvania. [22]

1811 Christina Baltzel was sponsor at the baptism, on November 17, of Susannah Simonson, born August 17, daughter of Jacob and Christina Simonson, perhaps this couple. [23]

Jacob Lamberson's birth has been reported as 1764, at Monmouth County, New Jersey.
