1780 David Meals was born on May 25, based on his age at death.

1802 David Mails, blacksmith, was taxed as a single man in Menallen Twp, Adams County. [1] In another listing, David Meals was taxed in Menallen Twp, Adams County for 162 acres and sawmill. [2] Perhaps he was married during this year.

1809 Ferdinand Mihl, son of David Mihl and Elisabeth, was born on February 15. He was baptized on April 16 with sponsors Hanickel and Cathari Baer at the Lutheran and Reformed Church in Arendtsville, Adams County, Pennsylvania. [3] [4] [5]

1810 David Meals (age 45+, David would not be this old) and female (age 16-25) were listed in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania with 2 males age 10-15. Samuel Meals (perhaps David's brother) was listed nearby. [6] [7]

1810 David Meals, perhaps this one, witnessed the will of Joseph Griffith in Menallen Twp, Adams County. [8]

1811-12 David Meals was taxed in Menallen Twp, Adams County for 80 acres and sawmill. [9] [10]

1820 David Meals lived in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 2 (10 thru 15) and 1 (26 thru 44); and females: 1 (under 10) and 1 (26 thru 44). [11]

1824 On April 12, at the Orphans' Court at Gettysburg, York County, Pennsylvania: "on application the court appoints David Meals to be guardian of the persons and estates of Hannah Meals, Sarah Meals, and Jacob Meals minor children under the age of fourteen years of [David's brother] Jacob Meals, dec'd." [12]

1830 David Meals lived in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (5 thru 9), 1 (20 thru 29), and 1 (50 thru 59); and females: 1 (15 thru 19) and 1 (40 thru 49). [13]

1835 "Notice is hereby Given" ... "The account of David Meals, guardian of Hannah, Sarah, and Jacob Spangler" [sic] and "The account of Jacob Weldy, administrator of the estate of Jacob Meals, deceased." was posted in the Adams Sentinel on 26 January. [14]

1840 The Lutheran Society of Bendersville was organized with David Meals and elder. [15]

1850 David Meals (age 70, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Magdelena Meals (age 68). [16] [17]

1860 David Meals (age 80, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Mary Meals (age 78). [18] [19] [20]

1860 Magdelena Meals died on November 28, 1860, at age 78y 10m, and was buried at Bendersville Cemetery, Bendersville, Adams County, Pennsylvania. Magdelena Meals was born on January 28, 1782. [21] [22]

1861 David Meals, Sr. died on December 8, at Menallen Township, age 81y 6m 13d, last residence in Menallen Township. David was buried in the Bendersville Lutheran Cemetery, Bendersville, Adams County, Pennsylvania. [23] [24] "Died, on the 8th inst., at Menallen Twp., David Meals, Sr., aged 81 years, 6 months and 14 days." [25]

1861 The will of David Meals was proved on December 12. All property was bequeathed to daughter Catherine, married to George Thomas. Daughter Catharine, married to George Thomas, was named executor. [26] [27] [28]
