1820 John Meals lived in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (under 10), 4 (16 thru 25), and 2 (26 thru 44); and females: 1 (16 thru 25). [2]

1823-24 John & Gabriel Meales were taxed with land of 120 acres divided in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania. John was taxed with a trade (B smith in 1824). [3] [4]

1825-27 John Meals, g smith, was taxed with 59 acres in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania. [5] [6]

1830 John Meals lived in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (under 5), 2 (10 thru 14), 2 (40 thru 49), and 1 (80 thru 89); and females: 1 (5 thru 9), 1 (15 thru 19), 1 (30 thru 39), and 1 (50 thru 59). [7] It appears that there might be 2 families living in the household. One of the males could be Samuel Meals born c 1815, who appears in the 1840 census for Menallen Twp. The adjacent listing was brother Gabriel Meals.

1838 John Meals, perhaps this one, owned land in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania. The tract on the Big Conewago had been warranted to Robert McConaughy on October 23, 1753. Adjacent landowners were John Mann, Ephraim Johnson, Robert Moore, and Samuel McConaughy. [14]

1840 John Meals lived in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 1 (5 thru 9), 1 (10 thru 14), 1 (15 thru 19), and 1 (40 thru 49); and females: 2 (5 thru 9), 1 (15 thru 19), and 1 (40 thru 49). [15]

1850 John Meals (age 60) and Catherine Meals (age 54, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Butler Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Adam Meals (age 19), Leah Meals (age 14), and Matilda Meals (age 12). [16] [17] [18]

1852 John Meals died on January 30, of croup cholic at Benders Church in Butler Township age 62 years, 11 months, 20 days. [19] He died in Butler Twp, Adams County [20].

1854 The account of the estate of John Meals was filed on June 15, by David Meals in Adams County. [28] [29] Documents mentioned accounts paid to Samuel Meals, David Meals Senior, Ferdinand Meals, Margaret Meals, H & W B Meals, Solomon Meals, and Catharine Meals widow. [30] [31]

1860 Catharine Meals (age 63, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Butler Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Adam Meals (age 30), Harriet Meals (age 34), Jacob M Meals (age 2), and Leah Meals (age 24). [32] [33]

1861 Cathrine Meals was a member of the Biglerville church, Adams County. [34]

1870 Catherine Meals (age 73, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Butler Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Adam Meals (age 40), Harriet Meals (age 43), Jacob Meals (age 12), John Meals (age 9), Adam Meals (age 7), and Elizabeth Meals (age 4). [35] [36]

1880 Catharine Meals (age 83, born in Maryland, widowed), mother, lived in Butler Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Adam Meals (age 50), Harriet Meals (age 54), Adam Meals (age 17), Lizzie Meals (age 14), and Leah Meals (age 44). Catharine Meals's parents were both born in Maryland. [37] [38]

1883 Catherine Meals died on January 26, 1883 at age 86 and was buried at Benders Lutheran Church Cemetery, Biglerville, Adams County, Pennsylvania. [39] [40] [41]
