Mack's obituary states: "Howell Mack D, 54, R. 1, Cromwell, died in Goshen Hospital from an apparent coronary. Born July 4, 1922 in Cromwell, he was the son of Dudley and Belle (Cuddeback) Howell. He married Mary Lou Mawhorter on Jan. 17, 1948 in Cromwell. He had been a lifetime resident of the Cromwell area and worked as a farmer. He was a member of the Cromwell United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge and Farm Bureau. He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Gary (LuAnna) Dapis, Fort Wayne, Mrs. Tony (Dixie) Kreager, Cromwell, Mary Mack Howell at home; one son, Thomas D, at home; and one grandchild; one sister Mrs. Carlyle Herald, Ligonier. Funeral was Oct. 9 in Ulrey Funeral Home, Ligonier. Burial, Sparta Cemetery. + 10-7-1976"
