1914 Clarence Mawhorter and Burnis Laree Huntsman, both of Noble Twp, Noble, Indiana, were married on June 20 in Noble County, Indiana. David M Gow was the officiator. Clarence Mawhorter, child of Andrew J Mawhorter and Lillie M Ritter, was born on December 23, 1892, in Noble County, Indiana. Burnis Laree Huntsman, child of Elza Huntsman and Viola Winebrenner, was born on July 29, 1892, in Green Twp, Noble County, Indiana. The license was issued on June 19, 1914. [1]

1930 Burnice Mawhorter (age 37, born in Indiana, married, first married at age 21), wife, lived in Noble, Noble County, Indiana, in a household with Clarence Mawhorter (age 37), and Mary L Mawhorter (age 2). Burnice Mawhorter's parents were both born in Indiana. [2]

Clarence's obituary states: Clarence Mawhorter, "about 57, (born 12-23-1892) died May 25, 1950 at Luckey Hospital in Wolf Lake from carcinoma of the stomach. His home is located on the county road north of Burr Oak in Noble Twp. He was president of the Noble County Committee for the Production Marketing Administration, a member of Burr Oak Baptist Church, Wolf Lake Knights of Pythias, and Green Castle Grange of Kimmell. He served 2 terms as Noble Twp trustee. He is survived by his widow, Burnis; a daughter, Mrs. Mack Howell of Cromwell; a granddaughter; and a brother, Alvin of near Albion. Funeral was at Burr Oak Baptist Church Sunday. Burial, Christian Chapel Cemetery. + 5-25-1950"

Burnis Laree Huntsman Mawhorter's obituary states: Burnis Mawhorter, "about 72, died Jan. 7, 1965 in Maple Hill Nursing Home at Columbia City. She resided in Burr Oak, moving to Cromwell 12 years ago. Her husband, Clarence, preceded her in death. She was a member of Burr Oak Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mack Howell of Cromwell; one brother, Verlin Huntsman of Albion; 3 sisters, Mrs. Ted Hile and Mrs. Flossie Edsall of Albion, and Mrs. Harlan Ott of Columbia City; and 4 grandchildren. Funeral was Saturday at a Cromwell funeral home. Burial, Christian Chapel Cemetery. + 1-?-1965"
