1828 Father John Wigle was taxed for a distillery in Huntington Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania. John Weigle Jr (no land) was also taxed. [2]

1828 Daniel Weikel, son of Johann and Maria Weikel, was born on May 7. Daniel was baptized on July 27, 1828 at Upper Bermudian Church, Adams County, Pennsylvania. [3]

1850 John Weigle (age 47), a farmer, and Maria Weigle (age 47) lived in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania with children Daniel (age 22), Henry (age 23), Rebecka (age 16), Sevilla (age 15), Cathrine (age 14), Mary (age 12), Hannah (age 10), Sarah (age 7), John (age 6), and Jacob (age 5). Two neighbors, named Thomas Sellick and John Tawser had adjacent listings on the page (perhaps the Thomas Sillix and John Tauser noted in the 1851 sale below). [17]

1851 Land (116 acres) of John Tauzer, near that of John Weigle and Thomas Sellick, was seized and sold by the sheriff in Menallen Twp. Described as near Pines Grove. [21]

1851 John Weigle was on the committee of arrangements for a visit by Governor Johnston to Adams county. [22]

1852 John Weigle was secretary to the Whig party at a meeting in the Gettysburg public square with eloquent addresses and "first-rate style" glee club singing by the Chippewas glee club. [23]

1855 John Weigle lost in an election for supervisor in Cumberland Twp [obscured], Adams County. [24]

1860-61 John Weigle was listed as a merchant in Cumberland Twp, Adams County with a mill, taxed for $7. [28]

1861 John Weigle served on the general jury from Cumberland Twp, Adams County. [29]

1863 Daughter Sarah's obituary was reported in The Adams Sentinel 02/17/1863.

1870 John Weigle (age 65) and Mary Weigle (age 64) lived in Menallen Twp, Adams County, Pennsylvania with Rebecca (age 35), Catherine (age 31), John A (age 23), and George (age 13) Weigle. The family of son Henry (age 40) lived nearby. [30]

1872 A map of Adams County showed the households J Weigel near the north border of Menallen Twp, northwest of Bendersville (same location as John Wagle on the 1858 map). [31]

1875 Mary Weigle reportedly died on October 10 and was buried at Bendersville Cemetery, Bendersville, Adams County, Pennsylvania. [32] [33]

1880 John Weigel (age 76, born in Pennsylvania), farmer, widower, self (head), Farmer, lived in Benderville, Adams County, Pennsylvania (father born in Pennsylvania and mother born in Pennsylvania) with daughter Catharine Weigel (age 30). [34]

1894 John Weigle, widowed, died of gangrene on December 19, at age 91, in Menallen MM, Adams County, Pennsylvania. John Weigle was born in York County [Pennsylvania]. John Weigle was a Farmer. [35]

1894 "Died, Dec. 19, at the residence of Jacob Smith, John Weigle, an old and much respected citizen of Manallen Township, aged 91 years, 4 months and 16 days." [36]

1894 John Weigle died on December 19 and was buried at Bendersville Cemetery, Bendersville, Adams County, Pennsylvania. [37] [38] [39]
