Death of an early settler

Isaiah Hornaday died at 6:45 this morning, at the residence of his son-in-law, Asher N. Miller, 154 Bellefontaint street, after a brief but very painful illness from cancer of the stomach. Mr. Hornaday was born in Butler County, Ohio, January 11, 1821, and while quite young removed with his parents to Rush county in this state and afterward to the western part of this county, being one of the early settlers here. He was widely known and highly respected by a large portion of the citizens of this and the adojoining counties. He leaves a wife and six grown children. The funeral will occur at Mr. Miller's residence at 11 o'clock Saturday morning.

1915 Henderson F. Hornaday, child of Isaih Hornaday and Elizabeth Wiley, spouse of Elizabeth A. Hornaday, died on March 20, 1915 at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. Henderson F. Hornaday was born on June 23, 1848. [12]

1927 Sanford W. Hornaday, child of Elizabeth Wiley, died on July 16, 1927 at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. Sanford W. Hornaday was born on June 18, 1845. [13]

1937 Sarah E Barlow, child of I Hornaday (born Conn.) and Elmira Hoadley (born North Carolina), spouse of James M Barlow, died on January 03, 1937 at Plainfield, Hendricks County, Indiana. Sarah E Barlow was born on April 06, 1851. [17]
