B-1-1 Christopher Hornaday, born 1753/54, Cane Creek, NC; died 1841, Cane Creek, NC. Son of John and Christian (---) Hornaday. Married 1777 or earlier Ann (Nancy) Copeland. Christopher Hornaday served in Captain Jeduthan Harper's Co., Chatham Co. Militia, in 1772. He performed some service either military or otherwise for the American Army during the Revolution. At some time after April 30, 1776, he was paid a total of £27/3 for his services. His real estate dealings in Orange, Chatham and Randolph Cos. were extensive. Christopher kept an ordinary in Chatham and Orange Cos. Children:
