1889 Daniel A Harlan and Alice A Huntsman were married on December 14 in Noble County, Indiana. J D Fry was the officiator. The license was issued on December 12, 1889. [1]

1900 Alice Harlen (age 28) and Daniel Harlen (age 32) lived in Columbia, Whitley County, Indiana with Ross F (age 9), Roy W (age 7), and Edna M (age 3). [2] [3]

1938 Alice Almira Huntsman Harlan died on November 29 and was buried at the Christian Chapel Cemetery in Noble County, Indiana. [4]

1938 Alice A Harlan, 67, "died at her home in Kimmell on Nov. 29. Survivors include the husband, Daniel A. [Harlan] of Kimmell; 3 sons, Ross of Albion, Roy of Ligonier, and Dan L. of Kimmell; a daughter, Mrs. Edna Ott of Kimmell; one brother, Anson Huntsman of Albion; a sister, Mrs. Cora Strouse of Wolf Lake; 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was born in Green Twp, Noble County, Oct. 24, 1871, the daughter of George and Susanah Huntsman. She was a member of Sparta Christian Church where the funeral was held last Thursday. Burial, Christian Chapel Cemetery" [5]

1944 Daniel A Harlan died on April 18 and was buried at the Christian Chapel Cemetery in Noble County, Indiana. [6]

1944 An obituary reported [7]:

Harlan Daniel L, about 76, died April 19, 1944 at the home of his son, Ross of Albion. He was known throughout the county and for many years conducted a general store at Kimmell. Surviving are two more sons, Daniel, now in uniform and serving with Co. B. 196th Training Battalion, 61st Regiment, Camp Blanding, Fla., and Roy at Ligonier; a daughter, Mrs. Clint Ott of Fort Wayne; three brothers, Sam of Wawaka, Fordis of Albion, and William of Cromwell; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral Friday at Sparta Christian Church. Burial, Christian Chapel Cemetery.
