Funeral services for Wallace W. Shaw, rural Welda, were at 2 oclock this afternoon in Kunkel Funeral Chapel, Moran. The Rev. Gale Mack officiated. Interment will be in the Lone Elm Cemetery.

Shaw had a heart attack Friday while hauling hay to his cattle.

He was born June 2, 1909, northwest of Kincaid to Melvin and Norma McVeigh Shaw. He lived his entire life and farmed within five miles of the place he was born. He was graduated from Kincaid High School.

On Nov. 8, 1942, he married Elizabeth Drury near Selma. She survives as do three daughters, Melvina Jones of Potwin, Wilma Vermillion of Iola and Shirley Shaw, Topeka; and four grandchildren. A brother, Orval Shaw, is deceased. The family suggests memorials to the Kincaid Baptist Church. They may be sent to the church or the funeral home.

2010 Elizabeth May Shaw died on May 3; last residence Allen, Kansas; born January 16, 1913. [19]

Elisabeth Shanw, 97, of Iola died Monday May 3, 2010 at her home in Iola.

She was born Jan 16, 1913, in Lost Springs, to Albert and Kate (Pickett) Drury. She grew up In the Selma area and graduated Kincaid High School in 1932.

On Nov. 8, 1942, she married Wallace Shaw at her parents' home near Selma She was a member of First Baptist Church of Iola and Welda School Board. She was a 4-H leader and Sunday school teacher. She liked to sew, quilt and tend her flower garden.

She Is survived by her daughters Melvina Jones and her husband Charles Potwln and Shirley Shaw; Iola four grandchildren Tina Dudley, Great Falls Mont., Tamera Ostrander and her husband Jeremy, Glenwood, Iowa, Travis Vermillion and his wife Dawn, Kincaid, and Craig Jones and his wife Julie Papillion, Neb.; stepgranddaughter Teena Lutz and her husband Gerald, Garnett; 13 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild and a niece, LaJune Boden-hamer and her husband Glen Garnett.

A daughter Wilma Vermillion died earlier.

Funeral services will be at a 2 pm Friday at First Baptist Church in Iola. Burial will follow in Lone Elm Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Feuerborn Family Funeral Chapel in Moran.

Memorials to First Baptist Church of lola. Kincaid Fair Association or Southeast Kansas Respite Service may be left at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family online.

2006 Wilma Alberta Shaw Vermillion died on September 30 and was buried at Lone Elm Cemetery, Anderson County, Kansas. Wilma Alberta Shaw Vermillion was born on August 26, 1947. [24] [25] [26]
