1862 Asdrubal Reed, born in Wyandotte County, Ohio, enlisted in 12th regiment, Kansas Volunteers at age 17. [1] [2]

c 1864 Asdrubal Reed was a sergeant in 12th Regiment, Kansas Infantry [3] [4] and in the 19th Regiment, Kansas Cavalry (6 months) [5]

1870 George W Reed (age 47) lived in Harrison Twp, Franklin County, Kansas with sons Hannibal (age 28) and Asdrubal (age 25). [6] [7]

1874 Asdrubal Reed, age 27, and Isis Dale, age 21, were married on December 23 in Franklin County, Kansas. [8] [9]

1880 George W Reed (age 69) lived in Harrison Twp, Franklin County, Kansas with Hannibal Reed (age 28), Ices Reed (age 26), Orpha Reed (age 5), and Amma Reed age 1) [10]

1891 Daughter Miss Orpha A. Reed, age 18, and George W. Carey, age 22, were married on December 25 by Lutheran minister D.S. Altman at his house in Franklin County, Kansas. [11]

1898 Mr J A Marsh, age 25, and Miss Amma Reed, age 18, were married on February 3 in Franklin County, Kansas. [12]

1900 Alice I Reed (born in Indiana in Apr 1853, married for 26 years), wife, lived in Harrison Twp, Franklin County, Kansas, in a household with Asdrubal Reed (age 54). Alice I Reed's parents were both born in Indiana. Alice I Reed had had 3 children, 2 still living. [13]

1910 Asdrubal Reed (age 64, born in Ohio, married) lived in Harrison Twp, Franklin County, Kansas, in a household with Alice Reed (age 58). Asdrubal Reed's father was born in Virginia and his mother was born in Ohio. Asdrubal Reed could read and write. Asdrubal Reed's occupation was farmer. [14]

1930 Alice Reed (age 77, born in Indiana, widowed, first married at age 21), inmate, lived at the Kansas State Soldier's Home in Grandview, Ford County, Kansas. Alice Reed's father was born in Virginia and her mother was born in Kentucky. [19]

1936 Orpha Carey, married, spouse of G. W. Carey, died on July 21, at age 61, in Kissimmee, Osceola County, Florida. She was born on August 23, 1874, in Kansas, daughter of Asdrubel Reed and Alice Dale. She had lived at Cape Breeze. [20]

1937 Ices A Reed, wife of Asdrubal, died and was buried at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas. She was born in 1853. [21]

1957 Amma R Marsh died on May 20 and was buried at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas. Amma R Marsh was born in 1879. [22]

Died in the May 20, 1957 tornado with her husband James. Amma and her husband James were the first fatalities of this tornado. They died at their farmhouse near Ottawa, KS, in Franklin county. Story goes that Amma was fond of cooking and had a pet turkey. James played the Harmonica. (Caught in the Path: The Fury of a Tornado, the Rebirth of a Community (1997) by Carolyn Glenn Brewer)
