1838 Adam Ruhl and Miss Susannah Painter were married on July 8, by John Young, in Jefferson Twp, Richland County, Ohio. [2]

1839 Son James Ruhl was born on January 11. [3]

1840 Adam Ruhl lived in Troy Twp, Richland County, Ohio with one boy under age 5 (James?) Note: Troy Township was transferred from Richland County to Morrow County when the latter was created in 1848.

1845 Daughter Mary Jane Ruhl was born on April 24, in Ohio. [4]

1850 Adam Rheel (age 35) and Susan (age 30, born Ohio) lived in Troy Twp, Morrow County, Ohio with children James (age 11), Harriet (age 9), William (age 7), Mary J (age 5), Amanda (age 2), and Sarah A (age 1) and with Sarah Poland (age 28). [5]

1859 Son Levi E Ruhl was born on February 11, in Troy Twp, Morrow County, Ohio. [6]

1860 Adam Ruhl (age 25, sic) and Susan (age 41) lived in Troy Twp, Morrow County, Ohio with children James (age 21), Harriet (age 18), William (age 17), Mary J (age 15), Amanda (age 13), Albert (age 8), Lydia (age 6), Martin (age 3), and Levi (age 1). [7]

1862 Mary Jane Ruhl, daughter of Adam Ruhl, married James Ross on October 2, in Morrow County, Ohio. [8] [9]

1870 Adam Ruhl (age 57) and Susan (age 49) lived in North Bloomfield Twp, Morrow County, Ohio with children Albert (age 19), Sarah A (age 21), Lydia (age 17), Martin (age 12), Levi (age 11), Delila (age 8), and grandson Adam Keller (age 5). [10]

1880 Ad. Ruhl (age 67, born in Pennsylvania, married) lived in Congress Twp, Morrow County, Ohio, in a household with Susan Ruhl (age 62), Martin B. Ruhl (age 23), Levi E. Ruhl (age 21), Della M. Ruhl (age 18), and grandson A. Keller (age 16). Adam Ruhl's parents were both born in Pennsylvania. Adam Ruhl's occupation was farmer. [11]

1883 The will of Adam Ruhl of Bloomfield Twp, Morrow County, Ohio was dated October 5, 1883 and was proved on September 26, 1884. The will mentioned an unnamed wife, son Martin, son Levi. Witnessed by W H Ruhl and Jackson Parke. [12]

1884 Adam Ruhl, married, died on February 9, at age 71, in North Bloomfield Twp, Morrow County, Ohio. He was born in York County, Pennsylvania. He had lived at N. Bloomfield Twp, Morrow County, Ohio. He was a farmer. [13]

1900 Son Levi Ruhl (age 41) and Mary Ruhl (age 36) lived in Troy Twp, Morrow County, Ohio with Levi's mother Susan (age 81), brother Martin (age 43), and son Daniel (age 14). [14]

1907 Susan Ruhl died on March 30 and was buried at Shauck Cemetery, Mount Gilead, Morrow County, Ohio. [15]

1921 James Ruhl died on February 6, at age 82, in Harmony Twp, Morrow County, Ohio. He was born on January 11, 1839, son of Addam Ruhl and Susan Pauter. [16]

1931 Martin B Ruhl, single, died on August 22, at age 74, in Troy, Morrow County, Ohio. He was born on April 13, 1857, in Morrow County, Ohio, son of Adam Ruhl and Susan Painter. He had lived at Troy Twp, Morrow County, Ohio. He was a Farmer. [17]

1934 Mary Jane Ross, widowed, spouse of James Ross, died on July 2, at age 89, in North Bloomfield Twp, Morrow County, Ohio. She was born on April 24, 1845, in Ohio, daughter of Adam Ruhl and Susan Painter. [18]

1938 Levi E Ruhl, married, spouse of Molly Foltz Ruhl, died on November 21, at age 79, in Troy Twp, Morrow County, Ohio. He was buried at Shauck. He was born on February 11, 1859, in Troy Twp, Morrow County, Ohio, son of Adam Ruhl and Susan Painter. He had lived at Lexington. He was a Carpenter. [19]

1943 Della M Wertz, widowed, spouse of Joshua Wertz, died on April 18, at age 81, in Galion, Crawford County, Ohio. She was born on September 6, 1861, in Morrow County, Ohio, daughter of Adam Ruhl and Susan Painter. [20]

Obituary: "Susan Painter Ruhl was born August 11, 1818 in Richland county, Ohio, and died at her home March 30, 1907, at the advanced age of 88 years, 7 mos. and 19 days. She was married to Adam Ruhl 70 years ago, he having passed from this life 23 years ago [about 1884]. To this union there were born thirteen children, nine of whom still survive, and who with 33 grand-children, 64 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren are left the mourn the loss...the body was laid to rest in Shauck cemetery."
