Mathias Huber and his younger brother, Jacob, jointly inherited the Huber homestead in Martic Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania from their father Jacob Huber. [3]

1765 Henry Hoover, John Hoover and Martin Hoover, executors for the will of Jacob Hoover of Martick Twp, Lancaster County, produced an account and were appointed as guardians of minor children Jacob and Mathias. The heirs were named as widow Anna, Anna wife of Josh Gingerick, Barbara late wife of Philip Shortner, Mary wife of Jacob Everley, John Hoover, Martin Hoover, Margaret wife of John Winter, Christian Hoover, Magdalena wife of Adam Feller, Catherine wife of Abraham Latcha, Jacob, and Mathias. Date: June 14. [4]

1772 Jacob Hoover (son of Jacob Hoover deceased) and his wife Barbara sold land to Mathias Hoover (another son of Jacob Hoover deceased), all of Martick Twp, Lancaster County by deed dated November 1. John Jacob Huber, deceased, had been granted a patent [5] for the tract on Pequea Creek in Martick Twp. [6]

1776 Mathias Huber and wife Maria transferred his interest in the homestead to his brother, Jacob. [7]

1778 Mathias Hover took the oath of allegiance to the state of Pennsylvania in Hanover Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [8]

Mathias Huber and his brother-in-law, Abraham Gfeller left Lancaster County and moved to Rockingham County, Virginia. [9]

1783 Matthias Huber lived in Shenandoah County, Virginia with 7 white persons. [10]

1790 The Huber family moved to Tennessee about this time, living in Sweetwater Valley in Eastern Tennessee. [11]

1793 Matthias Hoover purchased land at Hoover's Gap, Rutherford County, Tennessee from Guilford Dudley on August 9. [12]

1800 Matthias Huber lived in Lancaster Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in a household with males: 2 (under 10) and 2 (26 thru 44); and females: 2 (under 10) and 1 (26 thru 44). [13]

1820 There were 2 listings for Matthias Hoover in Rutherford County, Tennessee:

1820 Mathias Hoover Sen'r lived in Murfreesboro Twp, Rutherford County, Tennessee in a household with males: 1 (16 thru 25); and females: 1 (under 10) and 1 (10 thru 15). Jacob Hoover was listed adjacent. [14]

1820 Mathias Huber lived in Murfreesboro Twp, Rutherford County, Tennessee in a household with free white males: 2 (under 10), 1 (10 thru 15), 1 (26 thru 44), and 1 (45 and over); and free white females: 1 (under 10), 1 (26 thru 44), and 1 (45 and over); and 14 slaves. [15]

Mathias Huber was a Methodist Farmer.

"Mathias Huber 2, born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.; died in Rutherford Co, Tenn.; m. Maria in Lancaster County; went to Tennessee in 1774. Methodist; farmer; res., Rutherford Co, Tenn.; issue: Martin, m. Sallie Bradford; Christian; Jacob; John; Nancy, m. John Glase; Elizabeth, m. Joseph Allison; Sally, m. Wm. Rawlins; Polly, m. John B. Pruett. Mathias Huber was the first of the clan to leave Lancaster County, or to join another church (Mennonite)." [16]
