Notes for Jacob Huber and Barbara

1761 "Jacob Hoover enters a Caveat against the Acceptance of a Survey made to Jacob Yoner on a Tract of Land adjoining the Lands of Jacob Ang, Daniel Stoufer and Martin Booker in Warwick Township, Lancaster County, the same having been surveyed for the said Jacob Hoover upwards of Twenty Years ago." Dated March 24. [1]

1761 "Jacob Yoner enters a Caveat against the acceptance of a Survey lately made by John Scull, Deputy Surveyor for Jacob Hoover, of a Tract of Land in Warwick Township, Lancaster County, for which Tract the said Jacob Yoner alledges he has a Proprietary Patent." Dated December 1. [2]

1765 Henry Hoover, John Hoover and Martin Hoover, executors for the will of Jacob Hoover of Martick Twp, Lancaster County, produced an account and were appointed as guardians of minor children Jacob and Mathias. The heirs were named as widow Anna, Anna wife of Josh Gingerick, Barbara late wife of Philip Shortner, Mary wife of Jacob Everley, John Hoover, Martin Hoover, Margaret wife of John Winter, Christian Hoover, Magdalena wife of Adam Feller, Catherine wife of Abraham Latcha, Jacob, and Mathias. Date: June 14. [3]

1772 Jacob Hoover (son of Jacob Hoover deceased) and his wife Barbara sold land to Mathias Hoover (another son of Jacob Hoover deceased), all of Martick Twp, Lancaster County by deed dated November 1. John Jacob Huber, deceased, had been granted a patent [4] for the tract on Pequea Creek in Martick Twp. [5]

1796 Jacob Huber, perhaps this Jacob, warranted land in Martic Twp, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. [6] [7] [8]

1808 The will of Jacob Huber was dated November 16, 1808 and was probated on November 30, 1808 in Martic Twp. Wife Barbara. Children: Martin, Barbara wife of Henry Hoober, Jacob, Ann wife of Abraham Hoober, and Susanna wife of Abraham Gochnower. Grandchildren: Jacob and Barbara Huber (children of Jacob). Executors Martin and Abraham Huber. Note: If this it the will date is correct, it contradicts the 1810 death date reported by others. [9]

A biosketch reports: "18 - Jacob Huber 2, born in Lancaster County; died in 1810; and was buried at the Huber cemetery in Martic Twp.; m. Barbara (???) who died in 1826; issue: 36 Martin; 37 Jacob; 38 Barbara; 39 Anna; 40 Susanna. Jacob Huber and his brother, Mathias received the homestead in Martic Twp, by the will of their father and in 1774 Mathias sold his interest in the farm to his brother, Jacob, who held it until his death when the farm passed to his son, Martin Huber (No. 36)." Daughter Barbara married Henry Huber of Martic. Daughter Anna married Abraham Huber of Martic. Daughter Susanna married Abraham Gochenouer." [10]
