Notes for Peter Harvey and Sarah Curtis

1681 Sarah and her sister Elizabeth Curtis bound themselves out at age 18 in 1681 for four years to Benjamin Scott and Elias Farr in England in return for passage to America and 40 acres in New Jersey. On July 25, a mem. of Indenture of Service bound Sarah, daughter of Thomas Curtis, as servant for 4 years to Benjamin Scott, husbandman, bound for West Jersey, for which he was to give her 40 acres. 1686 Oct. 10, Peter Harvey of the First Tenth yeoman and wife Sarah to Thomas Curtis of Buggbrook, West Jersey, husbandman, for 40 acres in the Second Tenth, part of the land formerly belonging to Benjamin Scott dec'd, and by him assigned to Sara Harvey (supra, p. 111). [3]
