1687 The will of Seaborn Battee (AA) was exhibited to the court and was proved before Maj. Nicholas Gassaway, by Wolfram Hunt, Richard Wigg, & Henry Hanslop (witnesses). Also exhibited oath of Elisabeth Battee executrix & widow. Also exhibited oath of John Gresham & James Saunders, appraisers. Dated March 9. [1]
c 1688 Joseph Chew married Elizabeth, relict and executrix of Seaborne Battee of Ann Arundel, Maryland. She was a daughter of Henry Hanslap. [2]
"Seaborn Battee had died in 1687/88; his widow married Joseph Chew in about 1689; in 1694/95 Seaborn's lands were held by the Chews in trust for Seaborn's only son Samuel (see article 1, pp. 477, 495)." Maryland Genealogical Society Bulletin, Volume 39, 504
