1850 Joseph Kaufman (age 17, born in Pennsylvania) lived in North Woodbury Twp, Blair County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Henry Kaufman (51), Nancy Kaufman (45), John Kaufman (22), Andrew Kaufman (21), Henry Kaufman (19), Betsy Kaufman (15), Christn Kaufman (13), Levi Kaufman (11), and Abm Kaufman (9). Joseph Kaufman was a laborer. [1]

1865 Joseph Kauffman died on June 20 and was buried at Kauffman Cemetery, Curryville, Blair County, Pennsylvania. Joseph Kauffman was born on March 23, 1833. [2] [3]

A private in Co. B, 192nd Penna. Infantry. Pa. Veterans' Burial Card gives his date of birth as March 25, 1833 and death as June 11, 1865. Pennsylvania in the Civil War website also gives the death date as June 11.

1870 Rebecca Kauffman (age 30, born in Pennsylvania) lived in Martinsburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Annie Kauffman (8), Harry Kauffman (6), Minnie Kauffman (3), William Chaplain (26), Aldia Chaplain (23), Elizabeth Chaplain (5), and William Chaplain (9/12). [4]

1880 Rebecca Kauffman (age 39, born in Pennsylvania, widowed) lived in Martinsburgh, Blair County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Annie Kauffman (18), and Harrison Kauffman (16). Rebecca Kauffman's parents were both born in Pennsylvania. [5]

1897 Rebecca Stoner Kauffman died on September 23 and was buried at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania. Rebecca Stoner Kauffman was born on June 19, 1840. [6] [7] [8]

KAUFFMAN From the Martinsburg (Pa) Herald of September 23, we clip the following: Mrs. Rebecca Kauffman, died at her residence East Julian street at 8:15 yesterday morning, after a painful illness from a cancerous affection. Mrs. Kauffman, nee Stoner was born on the old Stoner homestead near the borough limits, June 19, 1840, and was aged 57 years, 3 months and 3 days. On September 20, 1860, she was united in marriage to Joseph Kauffmun who died near Winchester W.

Va., June 20, 1865, having given his life for his country. She is survived by three children: H. S. and Mrs. A.

M. Mentzer at home, and Mrs. J. W.Hedding, of Tyrone. The deceased was a consistent member of the River Brethren church for many years, an affectionate mother and a kind neighbor.

She bore her great affliction with Christian fortitude until the end of life's struggle. Funeral services in St. John Reformed church, this, Thursday, afternoon. Interment in Fairview cemetery..
