1846 Christian Stoner (of C) was taxed for 1 horse and 1 occupation as a single freeman in North Woodberry Twp, Bedford County, Pennsylvania.

1850 Father Christian Stoner (age 67) and Margaret (age 57) lived in West Providence, Bedford County, Pennsylvania with Christley Stoner (age 29) and Emma Lysinger (age 11). [1] [2]

1855 John River and wife Nancy, and Jacob E. Stoner and wife Polly, all of Noble County, Indiana, appeared in Bedford County, Pennsylvania to sign a deed conveying two tracts of land on Clear Ridge, West Providence Twp, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, to Christian E. Stoner Jr, of Bedford County, for $10. Dated November 5. The tracts had been conveyed to Christian Stoner, the father of Jacob E. Stoner and Nancy River, by deed dated May 13, 1842, from William McDaniel. [3]

1856 Christian Stoner married Mary E Lysinger of West Providence Twp, Bedford County, Pennsylvania on 8/1/1856. [4] Christian Stoner married June 1, 1856 to Miss Mary E Lysinger both of West Providence Twp, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. [5]

1860 Christian Stoner, farmer (age 36) lived at Bloody Run post office in West Providence, Bedford County, Pennsylvania with Mary E Stoner (age 23), James Henry Stoner (age 1), and Mary A. Fzan? (age 8). Margaret Stoner (age 63)[Christian's step-mother and Mary's mother] lived with them. [6]

1861 The home of C Stoner was shown on a map east of Clear Ridge [see 1855 deed] in the southeast part of West Providence Twp. The Pitman and Weeks residences were nearby and were also listed nearby on the 1860 census. [7]

Research Notes:

Bloody Run was renamed Everett and is 7 miles north of Clearville, PA.

1886 Henry Stoner, age 27, and Rebecca C Long were married on March 4 in Blair County, Pennsylvania. Henry Stoner, son of Christian Stoner and Emma Stoner, was born about 1859. (FHL film 001293317). [8]

David Stoner could be a son. He was married to Alda and had brothers John and Henry of McKeesport.


1899 David S. Stoner, son of Christian Stoner, of Clearville, Pennsylvania died.

1900 Alda A Stoner (born in Pennsylvania in May 1866, widowed, married 9 years ago) lived in West Providence Twp, Bedford County, Pennsylvania, in a household with Spencer Laura (age 17), F R Bennet (age 31), Franklin I Baker (age 25), and Taylor P Elliott (age 28). Alda A Stoner's parents were both born in Pennsylvania. Alda A Stoner had had no children. Alda A Stoner was a land lady (boarder). [12]

Wrong. This Rebecca Stoner was the wife of D.B. Stoner.
